According to a timely rumor, Fortnite could have some sort of crossover with Kingdom Hearts in the future. While both these properties are quite different in terms of genre and gameplay, Fortnite and Kingdom Hearts do feature characters and other elements from separate franchises coming together under a shared setting. In the case of the latter, Kingdom Hearts takes players to the worlds of classic Disney properties and contains certain lore and gameplay aspects from Final Fantasy to tell the story of a young boy named Sora who finds himself caught in a universe-spanning conflict between light and darkness.

As for Fortnite, Epic Games’ hit multiplayer battle royale shooter has seen countless crossovers with famous movies, TV shows, and other video games over the years – with many of them stemming from Disney-owned properties like Marvel and Star Wars. Fortnite most recently celebrated the annual Star Wars Day with a host of special events and content across all its various game modes. Additionally, Loki and his female alternate reality counterpart Sylvie from the MCU Disney+ series Loki were just added as playable character skins earlier this month, though not everyone was pleased with the former’s facial model.

Noted video game rumor hunter Midori, known for their various leaks surrounding the Persona series, recently shared an interesting Kingdom Hearts tidbit on their Twitter account. According to them, there is going to be an initiative to have Kingdom Hearts cross over with other games, with Fortnite being the only specific name mentioned. However, Midori doesn’t have any more information to share at the moment, such as a possible date for this collaboration or what exactly it could entail in terms of in-game Fortnite content.

Kingdom Hearts May Cross Over With Fortnite In The Future

This new rumor comes during an exciting time for fans, as it was recently announced that the Kingdom Hearts series will be released on Steam on June 13. Word has it that a Kingdom Hearts movie is in the works, one that will reportedly combine live-action with modern 3D animation. Finally, Kingdom Hearts 4 was confirmed back in 2022, though information has been incredibly scarce since the initial announcement trailer.

If these rumors of a Kingdom Hearts/Fortnite crossover are true, then it is very well-timed, and the former series is already centered around Sora and his fellow Keyblade wielders diving into other words. It wouldn’t be the first time Sora appeared in another video game either, as he was the final DLC character introduced into Super Smash Bros Ultimate in 2021. Of course, nothing official has been confirmed yet about the worlds of Kingdom Hearts and Fortnite colliding someday, or exactly what this supposed crossover would be.
