Fortnite just released a new major update for Rocket Racing. Psyonix, the developer of Rocket League, developed the racing mode featuring the cars from the rocket-powered soccer game. Fortnite continues to outshine other live-service games by consistently rolling out frequent updates. Rocket Racing is just one of the game modes to get new content recently.

Epic Games has been collaborating with other developers on three separate modes in Fortnite since last year. Epic Games has been busy with LEGO Fortnite, and Harmonix, the developer behind Rock Band, has been working on Fortnite Festival. Epic seems to be focused on making Fortnite a hub for games, similar to something like Roblox, in order to compete with the gaming giant.

Fortnite is Officially Adding the Tesla Cybertruck to the Game

Fortnite releases a trailer announcing a collaboration with Tesla’s Cybertruck coming to the game’s item shop in the near future.

Epic recently pushed an update for Rocket Racing called Inferno Island. The Inferno Island update includes five new tracks made by Epic and two from 404 Creative. The previous tracks from the Neon Rush update are still accessible to all players, in addition to the seven new ones. A casual racing playlist that shuffles random Epic-made tracks is now available along with this update. So now, players who just want to race with others can do so without worrying about their rank. Ranks from the last Rocket Racing season will be reset, and new ranks will be set based on the player’s finishing rank in the last period.


In addition to the new tracks and causal playlist, Epic is releasing a new quest pack in the item shop. The pack includes the racer skin, Cinder, along with the Lockjaw Car Body, 4 decals, and its quests that reward several more cosmetics. The starter quest pack will be released on July 25 at 8pm ET. Epic notes that the quests will be auto-completed a year later, rewarding all players who own the pack but haven’t finished it. The Lockjaw car, its wheels, and its decals will all be eligible for cross-game ownership with Rocket League. Epic has been allowing players to transfer cars between Fortnite and Rocket League since its launch. Letting their car purchases in Fortnite carry over to Rocket League, and vice versa.

Epic Games has released many different collaborations lately. Pirates of the Caribbean is the latest big collab, with skins for Jack Sparrow and new mythic items being released. The Pirates of the Caribbean crossover also has its own event pass, which includes several different pirate-themed cosmetics. Epic likely has many more crossovers in the works, so fans can begin to speculate about what will come next.

  • Fixed the appearance of the side thrusters on both Nissan Fairlady Z Car Bodies.
  • Fixed the coloring on the Imperator DT5 Car Body.
  • Fixed the appearance of the Backfire Car Body, Nissan Z Performance Wheels, Polygonal Boost, and Discotheque Trail when previewing them in your Locker.
