  • Demands for major optimizations to improve Bedrock Edition’s performance continue to grow among players.

A Minecraft player has showcased how the Switch version of Mojang’s sandbox still has problems. Minecraft was released in 2011, but players often encounter problems while running the game. Sometimes these issues can be unusual bugs or things that affect gameplay.

Despite being a game with a relatively simple aesthetic, it’s not uncommon to see upset Minecraft players because of performance problems. Improving the FPS while playing Minecraft through optimization is one of the main ways to ensure the game performs better. In some cases, however, less fortunate players can’t optimize the game even after trying every possible method. Adding another problem to the collection of reasons for frustration with Minecraft, a player shared a clip showing the current state of one of the game’s versions.

Minecraft Fan Shares Waterproof Redtstone Dust Concept

A Minecraft player gives Redstone their own spin, and shares an inventive concept showing what it would be like if the item were waterproof.

Reddit user RealGeomann shared how playing Minecraft on the Nintendo Switch is still a problem. They recorded a clip in which they broke some grass blocks, with the first four blocks breaking relatively smoothly. From then on, the grass blocks that the player punches break with a considerable delay. When they hit a tree, Minecraft players can see that although the delay is shorter, there is still a subtle gap between the animation of the block breaking, and the moment when it breaks.

Minecraft on Switch Still a Tricky Experience

It’s not the first time a player has had a frustrating experience playing Minecraft on the Switch. In the comments, one Redditor suggested the OP “turn off some fancy graphics settings,” and try to get better performance. In response, other Minecraft players said they had already done the same, but to no avail. Other players also criticized Mojang’s decision to replace all versions of Minecraft for consoles with the “poor-performing Bedrock.” The author of the post, for their part, said they had tried reinstalling the game numerous times, but none of them had any effect on improving their experience with Minecraft Bedrock Edition on the Switch.

While playing Mojang’s sandbox on the Switch is a complicated experience, playing Minecraft Bedrock Edition is notoriously hard. This Minecraft version was first released in 2016, and it has become common to see posts on social media with players showing absurd situations caused by performance issues. The situations range from horses walking upside down, players getting stuck under the ice because of the delay in breaking blocks, or taking damage for no apparent reason. As a result, there are growing demands from Minecraft players for Mojang to do major optimizations at some point to improve the general performance of the Bedrock Version.
