Key Takeaways

  • Neuvillette and Mualani shine as powerful hypercarries in Genshin Impact speedrunning.
  • Xilonen and Chiori form a potent core for quick Spiral Abyss clears in the meta.
  • Average players may not achieve optimal results with them, but top characters like Navia remain relevant.

A recent chart showcases the fastest Spiral Abyss clears in Genshin Impact for the first half of Version 5.1, highlighting the profound effect Xilonen has had on the meta. While only a minuscule number of players engage with speedrunning in Genshin Impact, pushing characters to their utmost limit often provides useful data on which team cores are powerful, even at low Constellations. It’s no secret that Fontaine and Natlan saw the rise of new stars such as Neuvillette and Kinich, but old units such as Yelan continue to be relevant.

The data gathered for the chart only takes into account Genshin Impact characters with fully completed Constellations and fully refined Signature Weapons. As a result, the barrier of entry blocks the vast majority of Genshin Impact players, as very few have the means or the desire to spend high amounts of money to field a fully upgraded, meta-relevant team.

What to Expect From Genshin Impact Version 5.2

November 20 promises to be a huge day for Genshin Impact, as the highly anticipated update will deliver a wealth of new content and exciting features.

The infographic was made by tracer4b, who shared the results with the Genshin Impact community on Reddit. It displays the top five teams for completing the Spiral Abyss in October 2024, using the clear time for Floor 12 as the benchmark. To no one’s surprise, Xilonen shows up in eight out of ten teams, with the sole exception being Kinich’s Burning teams – as Xilonen is fundamentally incompatible with Dendro characters in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact: Best Spiral Abyss Clear Times for October 2024

First Half

  • #1: Neuvillette, Tartaglia, Chiori, Xilonen
  • #2: Mualani, Arlecchino, Yanfei, Xilonen
  • #3: Arlecchino, Bennett, Chiori, Xilonen
  • #4: Clorinde, Fischl, Chiori, Xilonen
  • #5: Kinich, Emilie, Bennett, Klee

Second Half

  • #1: Mualani, Xiangling, Zhongli, Xilonen
  • #2: Neuvillette, Sigewinne, Kazuha, Xilonen
  • #3: Yelan, Furina, Chiori, Xilonen
  • #4: Kinich, Emilie, Bennett, Dehya
  • #5: Navia, Fischl, Chiori, Xilonen

Neuvillette and Mualani continue to be powerful hypercarries, taking first or second place in either half of the Spiral Abyss. However, special mention needs to be given to Xilonen and Chiori in Genshin Impact, who form a powerful team core due to their easy rotation and quick setup – two valuable traits when it comes to speedrunning the Spiral Abyss. While the average clear features Furina, a C6R5 version of Neuvillette benefits far more from Tartaglia, who provides a talent boost to Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks simply for being in the team.

In this sense, the teams shown above shouldn’t be considered optimal for the average Genshin Impact player, but neither should the data be discarded entirely. Neuvillette, Mualani, Kinich, Arlecchino, and Navia continue to be extremely popular characters in the meta and their presence on this chart only confirms that. While it remains to be seen how Chasca will make her mark on the meta, most players are excited to see the Pyro Archon debut in Version 5.3. Mavuika in Genshin Impact has the potential to be a 5-Star alternative to Xiangling or Bennett, which should open up more teams and allow more hypercarries to reach new heights.
