Highlights

  • Version 4.6 of Genshin Impact brings Remuria, a new zone with vertical layers and underwater content, along with a new playable character, Arlecchino.
  • Remuria, the Sea of Yore, offers new exploration opportunities with ancient ruins and connections to Khaenri’ah, featuring Hydroculi for collection.
  • The update introduces two new artifact sets, a world boss, and a Trounce Domain near Mont Esus, expanding the game’s lore and gameplay possibilities.

Genshin Impact players can now have their first glimpse into the new zone of Remuria, located below the surface of Teyvat on a separate world map. While Version 4.5 is considered by many to be a quieter patch, Version 4.6 of Genshin Impact appears to be packed with new content. The update will mark the arrival of Arlecchino as a playable character, and will introduce two new artifact sets, a new world boss, and a new Trounce Domain near Mont Esus. More importantly, it will feature the third subterranean zone after Enkanomiya and the Chasm, which have traditionally been fan favorites.

Though Arlecchino’s debut in Genshin Impact is expected to be the main attraction of Version 4.6, the addition of Remuria to the tapestry of Teyvat shouldn’t be disregarded. Both its ancient ruins, and the island town of Petrichor that lies above it, have been teased by HoYoverse for a long time. Genshin Impact players will finally have a chance to explore its depths, and likely find connections to Khaenri’ah – given that most of Remuria sank into the Abyss when it fell.

The Sea of Yore and Remuria Are Coming to Genshin Impact in Version 4.6

The new map of Remuria was shared by Uncle Teyvat on Twitter, a very credible source in the Genshin Impact Leaks community when it comes to upcoming world expansions and zones. Though Remuria appears to be about half the size of the Chasm’s underground area, an important thing to note is that it will have several vertical layers, and some of those will even feature underwater content. Arlecchino’s ascension materials will drop from the new world boss found in the zone, so Genshin Impact players will almost certainly want to explore it as soon as Version 4.6 goes live.

While Dainsleif isn’t expected to make his annual appearance in Version 4.6, Remuria will likely play a key role in his quests in Version 4.7. Unlike the Chasm and Enkanomiya, the Sea of Yore (Remuria) will still feature Hydroculi for players to collect, and will not have a separate exploration item. This means that Version 4.6 will likely be the final Fontaine map expansion in Genshin Impact, and that Mont Esus will get a standalone expansion only after the debut of Natlan.

Though most of the Fontaine cast of Genshin Impact characters has either been revealed or released, players still wait for Clorinde, Sigewinne, and Emilie to join the playable roster. The current assumption is that Clorinde and Sigewinne will launch in Version 4.7, while Emilie will close out the Fontaine patch cycle by releasing in Version 4.8. However, their rarities and ability kits still remain unknown.
