How To Communicate With The Strange Yumkasaurus
The Lies and Promises quest is a subquest that is a part of the In the Footsteps of the Chosen of Dragons quest in Genshin Impact. The quest will unlock only when players come within the region and their Saurian guides them to the quest location.
In the Footsteps of the Chosen of Dragons in Genshin Impact is a larger chain of quests involving your personal Saurian, and each one also awards players a hidden achievement. Lies and Promises involves talking to a Strange Yumkasaurus inside Coatepec Mountain that is guarding a Luxurious Chest.
Where To Start Lies And Promises In Genshin Impact
The Strange Yumkasaurus is located inside a mountain and can be a little hard to find. There are two teleport waypoints players can use to reach the area in which the Yumkasaurus will be. The first would be the teleport waypoint at the top of the mountain on Teticpac Peak. The second is the easiest, and it’s an underground waypoint south of the location.
Players can teleport to the above indicated waypoint, then make their way past the small pond and a Yumkasaurus to their left. You need to go up the wooden ladder and come to an area with a tent. You’ll be able to spot the Strange Yumkasaurus a couple of steps ahead.
How To Communicate With The Strange Yumkasaurus
Once you reach a small camp-like area, you’ll see the Yumkasaurus sitting on a rock and ‘guarding’ a Luxurious Chest. The Yumkasaurus basically needs help, and because you can’t understand, you’ll need to find another Yumkasaurus to help you out. Turn around and head past the camp to find another Yumkasaurus below you. You will need to indwell it and then head back to the Strange Yumkasaurus to successfully communicate with it.
After successfully finding out what it wants, you need to offer some food to the Yumkasaurus because it’s hungry.
Frankly, you can feed it anything, but it is recommended to feed it raw meat, meat, or seafood, as that is usually what the Saurians eat.
Keep following the quest navigation and do not leave your Yumkasaurus form. You’ll need to continuously stay in it until your Saurian companion steals the chest for you. Once you open the chest, you will find a note from the Yumkasaurus’s previous owner stating what happened. Wayna — the tribe chief from the Scions of the Canopy — will then show up and give you context to the situation. Completing the quest doesn’t award much, except for 20 Primogems and the hidden achievement: A Final Kindness.
A Final Kindness can be obtained only after you complete the quest and head back to the Yumkasaurus to feed it.
