Following the previous major update, Arrowhead Game Studios has released Helldivers 2 patch 1.000.402, addressing various issues and bugs. Among the most important Helldivers 2 fixes is a critical correction that ensures the Spear now targets several entities, including spawners and compound objects.

Helldivers 2, the cooperative shooter developed by Arrowhead Game Studios, continues to captivate players with its engaging gameplay and combat scenarios. Building upon the foundation laid by its predecessor, Helldivers 2 enhances the cooperative gameplay experience with new mechanics. Recently, Helldivers 2‘s major update 01.000.400 was released, significantly enhancing weapon and stratagem effectiveness, rebalancing enemy encounters, and introducing new environmental effects and social features. However, many issues remain unresolved, and the developer is actively working to address them.

Helldivers 2 Players Think Latest Patch Broke Enemy Spawns

Helldivers 2 players believe that the latest patch made Patrol spawns worse rather than fixing them like the patch notes promised.

This latest patch focuses on improving the overall quality of life, fixing numerous Helldivers 2 crashes, and resolving general bugs that have been affecting gameplay. Most importantly, the Spear now properly targets entities like spawners and compound objects. Various crashes occurring when changing settings, switching languages, and exiting missions have also been resolved. Additionally, crashes related to the social menu, especially when having over 100 friends or multiple blocked players and friend requests, have been fixed. The social menu now limits visibility to 100 friends, ensuring stability. Other crash fixes include those occurring when minimizing the game after changing fullscreen mode, picking up equipment, interacting with a terminal post-host migration, and in minefield scenarios.


Numerous gameplay issues have been addressed. Problems with dodge and prone mechanics, as well as the inability to stand up when wielding the ballistic shield, have been fixed. The Recoilless reload speed has been corrected, and issues with writing descriptions on consoles when reporting players have been resolved. Vehicle previews in Helldivers 2’s Warbonds no longer despawn when quickly scrolling through the catalog. Sentries now have a higher destruction value, preventing instant destruction by most explosions. Additionally, operation progress is no longer lost when kicked due to inactivity.


Moreover, performance on the PS5 has been improved when CPU bound. Effects from Helldivers 2 destroyed Spore Spewers now dissipate correctly, and the stim visual effect remains for its entire duration when the med-kit bonus is present. Emote animation now properly prevents players from using weapons, and Hellbombs now face the player upon deployment.

Some issues persist and are either newly introduced or carried over from previous versions. These include problems with sending friend requests via friend code, joining or inviting players to games, and certain weapons not functioning properly. While the studio acknowledges these issues and is working to find a solution, players can already experience Helldivers 2 patch 1.000.402.

Crashes

  • Fixed various crashes that would sometimes occur when changing settings.

Known Issues

  • Sending friend requests via friend code in game currently does not work.
  • Players may be unable to be joined or invited to the game.
  • Players added to the ‘Recent Players’ list will appear in the middle of the list.
  • Players may experience delays in Medals and Super Credits payouts.
  • Available Operations are generated again after reconnecting after getting AFK kicked.
  • Enemies that bleed out do not progress Personal Orders and Eradicate missions.
  • Arc weapons sometimes behave inconsistently and sometimes misfire.
  • Most weapons shoot below the crosshair when aiming down the sights.
  • Plasma Punisher is unable to shoot out of the shield generators.
  • Stratagem beam might attach itself to an enemy but it will deploy to its original location.
  • “Hand Carts” ship module does not reduce Shield Generator Pack’s cooldown.
  • Bile Titan sometimes does not take damage to the head.
  • Charger’s butt does not take damage from explosions.
  • Players may become stuck in the Loadout when joining a game in progress.
  • Reinforcement may not be available for players who join a game in progress.
  • Planet liberation reaches 100% at the end of every Defend mission.
  • “Raise Flag of Super Earth” objective does not show a progress bar.
  • Mission count in the Career tab is being reset to zero after every game restart.
  • Some weapons’ descriptions are out-of-date and don’t reflect their current design.
