Helldivers 2 reveals the next premium DLC as the Chemical Agents Warbond, adding a variety of new stratagems, armor, and more very soon. After flying out of the gates earlier this year, Helldivers 2 has seen its fair share of struggles over the past couple of months. Fans have grown frustrated over the constant state of updates, many of which feel reactionary by nerfing or adjusting popular weapons and strategies.

Arrowhead continues to try and adjust its own internal processes to avoid situations like this, with various developers attempting to offer clarity on what the team has planned for the future. In fact, the studio recently released a Helldivers 2 roadmap plan to address current issues with the game over the next 60 days, while also reiterating the studio’s commitment to ensuring each weapon and stratagem feels “powerful, responsive, and fun to use.” In the meantime, Arrowhead has revealed the next premium warbond DLC, bringing chemical warfare to Helldivers 2.

Known as Chemical Agents, the latest premium warbond continues to add themed content that follows in the footsteps of previous DLC for Helldivers 2. Focusing on the fantasy of being an exterminator, Chemical Agents features new gear for players to check out, including the TX-41 Sterilizer gas sprayer and AX/TX-13 “Guard Dog” Dog Breath, a drone that spews corrosive spray. Both are new stratagems which can be taken along on missions, though players can also select the new Haz-Master medium armor, Noxious Rangfer lightweight armor, as well as a gas grenade and P-11 Stim Pistol, which can heal allies from range.

Helldivers 2 Chemical Agents Release Date

Of course, customization is a big aspect of Helldivers 2 and this premium warbond does offer some new ways to show off. Alongside the new Expert Exterminator player title, the DLC comes with “Mustard” patterns for the Shuttle, Hellpod, and Exosuits. Players will also have 2 player banners and 2 capes to pick from, and finally, there are two new emotes which can be equipped, one of which is a co-op one called “Natural Gas Extraction.”

Alongside the new content and short-term plans to fix the game, players are also expecting to see a third enemy faction added sooner rather than later. The Illuminate have been heavily rumored for a while now and whether intentional or not, the third faction has appeared briefly in Helldivers 2. In fact, just recently, players noticed a third, purple faction appeared on the Galactic Map briefly before being removed and Arrowhead providing an in-universe explanation for the accident. Whether a tease or an actual accident, it appears new enemies are on the horizon.
