1 Other Xianzhou Ships & Leaders
Conflict May Be Brewing
Though fans have visited the Xianzhou Luofu many times with the Astral Express and have even recently been introduced to high-ranking people from other Xianzhou ships, they still don’t know that much about how the Xianzhou Alliance works. With the most recent 2.4 Update, it’s also been revealed to the player that Jing Yuan may be in a lot of trouble with other leaders in the Alliance due to the Stellaron crisis and his response to it – an issue only made worse by one of the Xianzhou’s greatest enemies, Hoolay, managing to escape from the highest-security section of the Shackling Prison, killing potentially hundreds and putting Jiaoqiu, one of the Arbiter-Generals’ retainers, in grave danger in the process.
Players can easily guess what will happen to Hoolay – since he’s fully voiced and has a model, he’ll end up being a boss, similar to Cocolia or Sunday. However, the aftereffects of his escape at a time when Jing Yuan and the Luofu are already under such close inspection remain to be seen. While it seems as though Feixiao, the Arbiter-General mentioned prior, is willing to help Jing Yuan due to her belief in him, word may still get out to the other Alliance ships, further ruining Jing Yuan’s reputation.
Even if the Luofu succeeds in getting things under control, there may still be a ripple effect felt throughout the Luofu or further. However, this may finally allow fans to learn more about the other ships and their leaders since they still know very little about them. Players will have to wait for the next update to see how things will be handled.
2 Luocha, His Background, And His Motivations
What Is He Hiding?
Honkai Impact 3rd
- Released
- October 14, 2016
Fans were first introduced to Luocha back at the beginning of Honkai: Star Rail and his suspicious behavior immediately set off quite a few red flags. As players return to the Xianzhou Luofu in Version 2.4, the questions they have about Luocha are still unanswered. For instance, fans still don’t know exactly who – or what – is inside the huge coffin he carries around or why he had to bring it to the Xianzhou ships to fulfill his “promise” to it. Plus, the last time we saw him, he’d been imprisoned in the Shackling Prison, where he’d managed to strike some sort of deal with Jingliu. We’re told his imprisonment was because he’d been accused of smuggling the Stellaron onto the Luofu, thus kicking off the Stellaron crisis, but it’s still not certain that this is entirely true or how he managed to do it. His involvement with the Stellaron crisis on the Luofu also has larger implications – for instance, was he involved in what happened to Tingyun? It could be likely, as he mentions that he had “plans” with her.

Honkai Star Rail’s 18 Aeons Explained
Honkai: Star Rail’s godlike beings known as Aeons play a big role in the story, and there are still more that haven’t been introduced.
Many fans of another popular Hoyoverse game, Honkai Impact 3rd, have also noted that Luocha looks suspiciously like one of Honkai Impact‘s biggest antagonists, the aptly named Otto Apocalypse. This links him straight to the companion, Welt, who canonically jumped from the Honkai Impact universe into the Star Rail universe. Welt immediately recognizes him as potentially being Otto the moment he sees him.
Luocha may be some sort of version of Otto, especially as Luocha admits that “Luocha” is simply the name he uses as a traveling merchant on the Xianzhou ships. While there are tons of theories surrounding Luocha’s motivations, his past, and what he plans to do in the future after seemingly partnering alongside Jingliu to take down the Abundance, the game hasn’t yet shared more information.
3 The Ten Stonehearts
For The Amber Lord – Probably
The Ten Stonehearts were only recently introduced in Honkai: Star Rail, appearing at the end of the Penacony storyline through mentions from the existing playable Stonehearts, Aventurine, Topaz, and Jade. They were also mentioned outside the game within an exclusive Myriad Celestia Trailer, which is where fans received their first confirmation of their names, their ranks, and some of their character designs alongside a brief insight into their personality.
While players now have a deeper insight into some of the members, they still know very little about most of them. For instance, while we know the Stonehearts are led by Diamond, we still don’t know exactly what his motivations for creating and leading the Stonehearts are other than the defense of the ideal of Preservation. We also don’t know why several members of the Stonehearts have joined the organization or what their motivations are. For instance, Obsidian is clearly ruthless and calculating, with a particular enjoyment of death and violence. As such, it’s unclear whether she genuinely believes in supporting the reign of the Amber Lord, or whether she simply benefits from the power that being a Stoneheart grants her. Each of the Stonehearts will likely appear (and may even be playable) in the future, which will give fans a better insight into how the organization runs and interacts internally.
4 Stellaron Hunters
The Mystery Of Elio
Despite the Stellaron Hunters being the very first group players are introduced to, playing as Kafka and Silver Wolf before they even get a glimpse of the Astral Express, they still don’t know that much about them. We know exactly who makes up the group and even the bounties the IPC wants for their capture, but players still haven’t even met their leader, Elio. Plus, considering how the entire plot of the game seems to quietly revolve around Elio’s “scripts” – his predictions of the future – it’s still not certain as to what the vast majority of his scripts actually say will happen beyond the implication that the Trailblazer will have to fight Nanook and stop the destruction of the universe.

One Leaked Honkai: Star Rail Feature Could be a Game-Changer
Honkai: Star Rail leaks are teasing a major new gameplay mechanic, and it can be a game-changer in terms of diversifying characters.
One big question is how Elio will maintain his promises to the rest of the Stellaron Hunters, if he maintains them at all. For instance, Elio recruits Blade by promising him that he will eventually find eternal death – and all those he blames for his current immortal condition will die alongside him. This includes Dan Heng at minimum, meaning that fans may eventually see one of their closest companions die if Elio chooses to honor this promise to Blade. Players can only wait and see what happens as the story unfolds, as it’s certain that the Stellaron Hunters will emerge again, perhaps to aid the Astral Express again.
5 The Ever-Flame Mansion
Did They Really Disband?
Honkai: Star Rail fans initially learned of The Ever-Flame Mansion just before Penacony dropped through another stylish and somewhat mysterious Myriad Celestia Trailer explaining each member of the Mansion and what their general role was. In this trailer, fans found out that the Mansion, despite being known to cause chaos in an attempt to catch the Destruction’s gaze, had somehow been invited to celebrate the Charmony Festival in Penacony.
Of course, the Mansion had been mentioned here and there in Star Rail lore previous to this – they were the ones behind the Space Station invasion that led to the Trailblazer joining the Astral Express crew, after all – but this trailer promised a lot more involvement from them, and soon. Plus, the intriguing and detailed character designs of the crew (with Dubra and Constance being particular fan favorites) left most fans assuming they’d be playable characters at some point.
However, during the Penacony arc, players learn through Aventurine that Acheron may have killed the leader of The Ever-Flame Mansion, Ifrit, and had stolen his invitation to the Charmony Festival to make her own way inside Penacony – a theory later confirmed by Acheron. However, Aventurine also claimed that The Ever-Flame Mansion group had disbanded, leaving the status of the group unknown. This has left fans with several huge questions, and many want to know if The Ever-Flame Mansion or its members will return in some way. Seeing as Constance makes a slight cameo in one of the Penacony quests to speak directly to Black Swan, it seems that she at least has a larger part to play. As for the rest, fans can only wait and see.
6 Rubert I
Will He Have A Bigger Role?
While Rubert I is an extremely easy background character to miss among everything else happening in Honkai: Star Rail, it seems it may soon become a topic of real discussion. Rubert was a computer that became sentient by itself, eventually catching the gaze of Nous thanks to its superior intellect, becoming Genius #27. However, it was also a murderous warlord who attempted to wipe out all organic life in the universe due to its belief that intellitron lifeforms were “perfect,” an action that created so much destruction it ended up indirectly ascending Nanook to Aeonhood. Rubert was eventually killed, though nobody is certain how – the leading theories seem to be that either the IPC or a fellow Genius Society member, Polka Kakamond.
Thanks to a broadcast that players can turn on inside the Astral Express’ Parlor Car, we now know that the Armed Archeologists of the Intelligensia Guild are planning to excavate Rubert I’s tomb with the help of Screwllum, another member of the Genius Society. These ruins are said to rank at a “Category Omega” on the Potential Disaster Index, though fans don’t exactly know what this Index is or what the other categories are. Depending on how the excavation goes, this has the potential for massive trouble in the future – or at least for players to perhaps find out more about Rubert and his Mechanical Emperor’s Wars. Considering how often he’s been mentioned throughout the game, this could be a legitimate plot point in the future.
7 Sunday’s Future
The Road To Hell Is Paved With Good Intentions
One of Honkai: Star Rail‘s most eagerly awaited characters, Sunday, was a fantastic antagonist during the latter half of the Penacony story, providing fans with one of the best bosses in the game. However, with every rise comes an inevitable fall, and Sunday’s was particularly harsh. The last players saw of him wasn’t promising, with him refusing Jade’s negotiations to free him from the hold of The Family, leaving his future in question.

Honkai: Star Rail Leak Shows Sunday Concept Art
Recent leaks from Honkai: Star Rail are showing off a piece of concept art for the heavily rumored playable version of Sunday.
What players do know about Sunday’s future – mostly thanks to leaks – is that it’s very likely that he’ll be a playable character. However, these tiny leaks hinting at a potential future outfit change and his potential Path have caused fans to go wild with theories, with some theorizing in particular that Sunday may join the Stellaron Hunters or even the Astral Express. It’s also unknown what the conditions of Robin’s deal with Jade are – if Sunday escapes The Family without her help, will it impact Robin? If he does accept Jade’s help, what is it that Robin agreed to give away? All in all, with tons of speculation surrounding Sunday, one thing is for certain: fans cannot wait for his return!
8 The Trailblazer’s History
Who Were They Before The Trailblaze?
Though the Trailblazer is the protagonist of Honkai: Star Rail and the character fans are supposed to be playing through much of the game, they still know very little about them. We do know that they have a close association with the Stellaron Hunters – they seemed to have traveled with the Hunters in the past and were potentially even created by Elio or the Hunters as a group. They also have canon names – the female Trailblazer is known as Stelle, and the male Trailblazer is named Caelus. Beyond this, though, much of the Trailblazer’s past is a mystery, and even the lore provided in-game through the Character Stories provides very little information on the Trailblazer that players don’t already know.
What is certain is that the Trailblazer will continue to stride along many paths, likely catching the gazes of several different Aeons and being graced with their power alongside what they’ve already been given the Destruction, the Preservation, and the Harmony. As mentioned before, we also know that they have an important role in Elio’s “script” and that they have impacted Elio’s previous predictions. All players can do is wait and see where Stelle or Caelus will be led as the story unfolds.
