Honkai: Star Rail has changed Huohuo’s voice actor both in-game and on the game’s official website. Honkai: Star Rail recently launched Version 2.4, which features Huohuo’s first rerun banner along with Yunli’s debut.

Since its release in 2023, Honkai: Star Rail has added over fifty playable characters, each with their own personality and abilities. Huohuo, a five-star Wind-type character following the path of Abundance, was first introduced in Version 1.5 and is currently one of the best healers in Honkai: Star Rail. Because of her hilarious voice lines and interactions with her companion, Mr. Tail, Huohuo has remained a popular character among members of the community. However, after the game’s 2.4 update, fans noticed that HoYoverse had made a major change to the character.

With Persona 5: The Phantom X still not out globally, gacha game giant HoYoverse may continue surpassing it with its RPG titles.

Players have become aware that Huohuo’s English voice actor has been replaced both in-game and on Honkai: Star Rail‘s official website. As Twitter user @StarRailVerse1 pointed out, Courtney Lin is no longer listed as Huohuo’s voice actor. Instead, the character is now voiced by Megan Shipman. HoYoverse has not given an official statement on the matter, making the change sudden and unexpected for players, especially since many are pulling for Huohuo in Honkai: Star Rail‘s current banner.

Honkai: Star Rail Replacing Huohuo Voice Actor

The reasons behind this decision remain unclear, but some fans speculate that it might be related to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA video game strike. While Courtney Lin has openly supported the strike on social media, the actor has not commented on Huohuo’s new voice. Lin also voices Lucy in Zenless Zone Zero, another HoYoverse game, but it appears her role in that game is unaffected.

Huohuo’s voice actor replacement is not the first major cast switch-up in Honkai: Star Rail‘s cast. Last week, HoYoverse quietly replaced Argenti’s voice actor, who also played Mr. Tail in the game. The character’s lines were entirely re-recorded, and fans who possess Argenti quickly noticed his new dialogue with the release of Version 2.4.

Although these two cases have both lacked official announcements, Honkai: Star Rail did confirm Moze’s voice actor replacement. Moze’s former actor was Chris Niosi, who publicly stepped down from the role after fans reacted negatively to his involvement in the game. Moze features in Honkai: Star Rail‘s current Version 2.4, and he is expected to be released as a playable character in the next update. HoYoverse has stated that Moze’s voice lines will be re-recorded for future versions, though a new actor has not yet been revealed.
