However, like the Sites of Grace in Elden Ring, these shrines are often spaced far apart, and reaching them can take some time, with paths frequently filled with enemies.

The Incense Trail Talisman provides a solution. Using this talisman instantly teleports you to the last Keeper’s Shrine you used, with no penalties. You don’t lose any Will or Skill points, making it an excellent way to retreat if you find yourself in a difficult situation.

How To Acquire The Incense Trail Talisman

The Incense Trail Talisman is one of the most essential items in your inventory. Fortunately, you won’t have to search endlessly to obtain it, as the talisman is automatically acquired after you interact with the first Keeper’s Shrine.

This Shrine is located in the Front Hills area of the Forest of Wolves subregion, which is the starting area of the Black Wind Mountain region. While you will receive a notification when you acquire it, that alone isn’t enough — you’ll need to equip the talisman before you can use it.

How to Equip and Use the Incense Trail Talisman

Simply acquiring the Incense Trail Talisman isn’t enough — you’ll need to equip it, just like any other talisman. To do so, follow these steps:

1. Pause the game and navigate to the Equipment tab.
2. Click on one of the four On-Hand slots at the bottom left of the screen (to the right of the Gourd slot).
3. Select the Incense Trail Talisman by either clicking on it or pressing the “E” key.

Now that you have the Talisman equipped, close the equipment menu and use the mouse scroll wheel to select the Talisman On-Hand slot in-game. Then, press the “Q” key to activate the Talisman.

When you do this, the Destined One will be teleported to the last visited shrine. You can even use it during combat. However, be aware that the teleportation will fail if an enemy attacks you while you’re in the activation animation.
