How to Upgrade and Dismantle Modules

In The First Descendant, using the right Modules can turn a deadly and challenging encounter into a successful mission. You can equip Modules to your character and to your three slotted weapons of choice. They help improve the combat ability of your Descendant in various ways, like upping your HP, dealing more damage with firearms, or increasing your shields. You’ll gather all sorts of Modules as you make your way through the Battlefields, but to upgrade Modules, you will need a resource called Kuiper.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to upgrade your Modules and how to get Kuiper fast, at least in the early to mid-game, without using Hard mode.

, you must complete all the main zone story missions and quests. Once that’s done, you can toggle on the harder difficulty mode to obviously face harder enemies but also get rewards, like Kuiper, faster than ever before.

To find the Module Master in Albion, check out the red arrow in the image above (he’s on the west side of HQ). Silion will have several options to choose from, including being able to Upgrade and Dismantle Modules. To upgrade Modules, you’ll need Kuiper, which you can actually acquire by Dismantling Modules you no longer need. In the Dismantling menu, you can even press a button to automatically highlight any duplicate Modules for Dismantling purposes.

You’ll get more Kuiper for Dismantling rarer Modules.

How to Farm Kuiper

Best Farming Locations in First Descendant

As we previously mentioned, one of the easiest ways to farm thousands of Kuiper is to just play the game like normal to collect lots of Modules and then dismantle the Modules at Silion’s place. Other than that, you must go out onto the battlefield and complete field missions. Some missions are faster to finish with simple objectives that are the best ways to farm loads of Kuiper, such as Extermination missions. These are the types of quests you should go for if you’re looking for objectives that can be completed in a short time.

These are some early-ish First Descendant locations that are great ways to earn Kuiper fast. Of course, once you unlock Hard mode, you should visit these locations to earn tons of Kuiper:

Sterile Land > Rockfall > Anticipated Ambush Point
Sterile Land > Classified Area > Large Nuclear Reactor
