Alan Wake 2: The Lake House adds several new trophies that eventually unlock as players progress through the DLC. The “Shape of a Man” trophy is one of the new ones that unlocks after you discover what happened to Rudolf Lane. However, even after fulfilling all the requirements to unlock the trophy, players aren’t able to get the achievement. Fortunately, there’s a workaround/fix to unlock the ‘Shape of a Man’ trophy/achievement in Alan Wake 2: The Lake House DLC — even if it’s bugged for you.

How To Get The “Shape Of A Man” Trophy In Alan Wake 2: Lake House DLC

Before attempting to unlock the ‘Shape of a Man’ trophy/achievement, make sure to switch to ‘
Quality Graphics Mode
‘ on Xbox or PlayStation. Players on PC can either turn up their graphics settings to the maximum or simply ‘limit their in-game FPS to 30.’

Unlocking the “A Shape of a Man” trophy requires players to read a few notes scattered in the sublevel 2 (-2) area and finally watch the complete video on a projector in the interview room. Here are all the steps required to get this trophy.

  1. First, get the security clearance 03 keycard from the Inventory Management room on sublevel 1 (-1).
  2. Then, head over to sublevel 2 (-2) and go downstairs to the right. You’ll reach a containment cell with blood splatter all inside it.
  3. Read the first note on the floor beside the bed. After that, turn right, play the recording, and read the notes on the desk. The last note can be found on a case right outside the containment cell.
  4. After you’re done, access the Interview Room with the security clearance 03 keycard.
  5. A video will start playing on the projector. Watch the video until the end to unlock the ‘A Shape of a Man’ trophy in Alan Wake 2: The Lake House.

If you do everything right, the trophy will easily pop up for you. There’s no rhyme or reason as to why this trophy is only unlockable under low-fps conditions. Hopefully, the developers will take notice of this and resolve the problem, so players can get the trophy or achievement without reducing the game’s performance intentionally.
