Just like in the larger Star Wars universe, Star Wars Outlaws features its fair share of unsavory characters and criminal factions. Players will be introduced to Gorak and the Pyke Syndicate soon after their arrival on Toshara, with Crimson Dawn, the Ashiga Clan, and the Hutt Cartel also playing an important role throughout the game’s main story missions.

Through their actions and the decisions that they make, players can shape Kay’s relationship with these factions. A healthy relationship will result in gifts and right of passage through clan territory, while a poor one can lead to hostilities and even assassination attempts. As a result, increasing faction reputation in Star Wars Outlaws is incredibly important.

How to Increase Faction Reputation in Star Wars Outlaws

There are numerous ways to improve Kay’s relationship with a crime syndicate, although some are arguably much better than others. For example, during several of the game’s main story missions, players will be asked to side with one crime syndicate over another, which will generally result in Kay’s relationship with one faction improving at the expense of another. If players give Imperial or Syndicate Data to a faction’s vendor, though, they’ll be able to increase their reputation with that faction without damaging their standing with another.

  • Story Choices: Although there are one or two main story decisions that can improve a player’s reputation with a specific faction with no obvious downsides, most require players to choose one syndicate over another, which will usually lead to their reputation with the faction they don’t choose being damaged. There are also a finite number of story choices, making this an unreliable method.
  • Complete Contracts: After completing the first few main story missions, players will gain access to brokers, with whom they can take on special contracts. Completing these contracts will grant a decent reputation bonus, although some of them can be quite time-consuming and may lead to conflict with other factions. On the plus side, players can complete as many contracts as they like.
  • Random Events: While exploring the open world of Star Wars Outlaws or flying around in space, players will sometimes run into faction members who are being attacked by pirates or bounty hunter droids. Helping them out will improve Kay’s standing with their faction.
  • Imperial or Syndicate: While exploring syndicate compounds and imperial bases, players will sometimes be able to find special data logs. If they give these to a syndicate vendor, their relationship with that faction will improve.

When it comes to efficiency, the best way to improve Kay’s relationship with a faction is to fly around in space and keep an eye out for random events. Despite being random, they seem to happen all the time and allow players to improve their reputation with a faction simply by destroying a handful of pirate ships. Completing contracts is a great way to improve Kay’s relationship with a specific faction, although these can often be time-consuming and some only provide one chance to succeed.

Reputation Levels and Effects

There are five main levels when it comes to faction relationships, each of which comes with its own unique effects. At the very least, players should aim to get their reputation level to good with every major crime syndicate in Star Wars Outlaws to ensure that they can travel freely around the galaxy without trespassing.
