He had nowhere to go, hanging around in the back alleys of Orario, and could barely fend for himself. There was no hope for him, that is, until Freya found him.

He capitalized on the one thing he was gifted by blood, polishing it with fervent determination to always be useful to Freya, which made him the adventurer he is today.

Being a level 7 adventurer, close to being level 8, is not an easy feat, and Ottar is a true representation. From the onset, Ottar has always been engaged in fights way above his level, racking experience. He fought the adventurers in the Zeus and Hera Familia on multiple occasions, that is, before they got defeated by the One-Eyed Black Dragon, and he got defeated each time. However, as things stand, no one in the series can match his combat abilities. His physicality, a result of the gift of his bloodline multiplied by hard work, is now through the roof. Even ordinary weapons can not handle his might. He is also incredibly fast and agile for a man his size, easily able to react to surprise attacks and even match the speed of Ais’ attacks with ease.

Ottar is able to use the magic skill Hildis Vini, a magic skill that strengthens the user and the intensity of their attacks. As if he were not already strong enough, he is able to go feral through Beastification, amplifying his already deadly strength and increasing his ferociousness, along with the transformation of his nails to claws. He has also gained enough control over the feral side of this ability—just enough violence to be sane while wreaking havoc. While this takes a toll on his mind, he also has the ability to heal himself and his mind, making him an even more dangerous beast.

Standing at the pinnacle of strength, Ottar has demonstrated feats that leave even his fellow adventurers in awe of him. His most jaw-dropping feat is his solo fight against the boss of the 49th floor, Balor. Balor is a boss-level monster that requires a level 5 or level 6 party of adventurers to defeat, and Ottar fought him on his own. Even Tione was glad that her party did not meet Balor. Sadly, Ottar was unable to completely defeat him. However, he did leave the monster half-dead while being half-dead himself, managing to return all the way from the 49th floor to the surface all on his own.

During the Great Faction War, Ottar was also able to simultaneously go against Bell, Mia, Hedin, and Ryu without breaking a sweat. This team of adventurers even got a boost to their abilities at the same time, and he still was a match for them. Even though he was defeated later on, he managed to take out three out of four of them, needing only a breather to handle the last one. In addition to this, Ottar also defeated Udeaus, the monster of the 39th floor, on his own, shook the city of Orario in his battle with Zard during the great feud, and even endured over 500 lightning orbs along with fire bolts that would have been the end of a typical adventurer.

The bond between adventurers and their gods is usually transactional, only to fulfill their respective roles in their Familias. However, the bond that Ottar and Freya share is beyond that—a bond built on mutual respect and devotion. In Ottar’s sight, he owes Freya his life and he is extremely loyal to her, holding her in the highest of regards. Insulting Freya is like spitting in his face, and he does not take it lightly. Her act of kindness pushed him to become what he is today, as all of his efforts were to become strong for her. Freya is the core of his world, and Freya is well aware.

The respect is also returned by Freya, who has a lot of faith in Ottar’s abilities. Knowing the strongest adventurer in all of Orario is in her Familia definitely keeps her at ease. Ottar acts as the sword and shield of the Familia, protecting its members and their reputation. She also sees him as a pillar of support, one who will always be on her side, even if she is in the wrong. This beautiful bond is what drove Ottar to seek strength to become the strongest adventurer in Orario and still drives him to remain the strongest.
