The King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna, was the main villain of JJK’s Shinjuku Showdown arc, and at the same time, the overarching villain of the entire series as well. Over the course of the last 2 years in Jujutsu Kaisen, fans have seen Sukuna go all out in Shinjuku, fighting one sorcerer after another.

Even though Sukuna has been defeated now, fans know for a fact that his performance was absolutely stellar, and that he defeated many overpowered sorcerers throughout his run in this arc of the series, living up to the name of the King of Curses.


9 Kusakabe

A Grade One Sorcerer

Kusakabe is a sorcerer without an innate technique, however, when it comes to the usage of New Shadow Style, he excels like no other.


Even though was no match for the King of Curses, he was still able to put up somewhat of a fight and impress the fans in many ways. Eventually, however, he was defeated by Sukuna with no effort.

8 Choso

One of the Death Paintings, Choso fought against Sukuna alongside Yuji Itadori, and strong as he was, he was not even able to make a dent in the King of Curses. That said, he was impressively able to take one of Sukuna’s Black Flashes, which went to show that his control over Blood Manipulation was absolutely sensational.

When Sukuna expanded his domain and unleashed Divine Flame on everyone around him, it was Choso who saved Yuji’s life by creating a blood barrier around him, and he got incinerated in the process.

7 Hana Kurusu

The Sorcerer With Angel’s Power

Hana Kurusu fought against Sukuna in the Shinjuku Showdown Arc of the story, and she certainly got close to defeating him. Hana was brought to the battlefield by none other than Todo, when she launched a powerful maximum output Jacob’s Ladder at him.

Unfortunately, Sukuna was fast enough to go through the beam of light before it took effect and could potentially have killed Kurusu completely Had it not been for Todo.

6 Hiromi Higuruma

Higuruma was one of the modern sorcerers who were granted their cursed technique by Kenjaku after the events of Shibuya. He was known to be one of the geniuses of the story, With potential equal to that of Gojo.


In fact, he even gained powers like reverse cursed technique, and learned how to utilize domain amplification as well. Unfortunately, he was struck down by Sukuna using the world splitting dismantle.

5 Kashimo

The God of Lighting Met A Fast End

The God of Lightning, Kashimo wanted to fight Sukuna desperately in Shinjuku Showdown. He got his chance after the fight between Gojo and Sukuna wrapped up.

Kashimo utilized his Mythical Beast Amber technique right from the get-go, and cornered a weakened Sukuna. However, as soon as he reincarnated into his true form, Kashimo was done for. Using his ability, Sukuna completely destroyed him using a net of Dismantle.


4 Aoi Todo

Todo Returned With Renewed Boogie Woogie

Aoi Todo returned to the series in the Shinjuku Showdown Arc, right after the death of Choso. Here, Todo showcased that he had managed to save Boogie Woogie, and not just that, but he would also improve upon it.

With his newfound technique that he used via a vibraslab, Todo was of great help to Yuji and allowed him to launch several powerful hits on the King of Curses, weakening him in the process. He even ate powerful black flashes from Sukuna, and earned praise from him as a true sorcerer.

3 Maki Zenin

Maki Stabbed Sukuna’s Heart

Maki Zenin was one of the heaviest hitters in the Shinjuku Showdown Arc of Jujutsu Kaisen Kaisen. Her performance in this arc was absolutely sensational, and she went toe to toe with Sukuna in terms of physical confrontation on many occasions, even overpowering him at times.

Maki even stabbed Sukuna’s heart, with her Split Soul Katana, and had Sukuna not known how to make his heart beat manually, he would have been dead. Maki also ate two powerful black flashes from Sukuna and still kept fighting, which just goes to show her physical capabilities are beyond belief.

2 Yuta Okkotsu

Used Domain Expansion Twice


Yuta Okkotsu was one of the special grade sorcerers and he too, took part in Shinjuku Showdown. Not only did he weaken Sukuna inside his own domain using his Authentic Mutual Love, but, Yuta returned with Gojo’s body later down the line and once again saved lives, all the while weakening the King of Curses.

Yuta didn’t technically lose against Sukuna the second time, but, his Copy technique ran out before he could fire more Hollow Purples at him.

1 Gojo Satoru

The Strongest Lost Because Of Mahoraga’s Adaptation

Of course, the strongest sorcerer that Sukuna defeated in Shinjuku was none other than the King of Curses, Gojo. Sukuna vs Gojo was, by far, the best battle in the Shinjuku Showdown Arc, and it saw the King of Curses being pushed to the extreme. In fact, Gojo could very well have defeated him had he not had access to the 10 Shadows Technique on top of his own.


Regardless, in the end, Sukuna won the battle by chopping Gojo in half using the World Splitting Dismantle, thanks to Mahoraga.
