For the unfamiliar, Kiki’s Delivery Service is a classic Studio Ghibli anime film chronicling the story of a young witch in training. Kiki, the eponymous witch, travels to a new town to train, and finds herself making deliveries atop her flying broom. Now, Animal Crossing and Kiki’s Delivery Service fan Happycat40 has recreated an iconic shot of Kiki flying high above her new city on her witch’s broom. Happycat40 included a side-by-side comparison, and while some adjustments obviously needed to be made, it’s a faithful and cute representation of the movie in AC style. The player character is sitting atop a broom with the camera angled so they appear high above a town and surrounding bay. Their character is perfectly dressed, too, with the iconic black dress, big red bow, and satchel bag all present. A careful examination will even reveal a little stand-in for Jiji, Kiki’s iconic black cat.
Animal Crossing Fans Delight in Charming Kiki Recreation and Pocket Camp Replacement
Many players have shared their praise for the recreation and the player’s attention to detail. The inclusion of Jiji particularly seemed to please fans of the film, as Kiki wouldn’t seem quite complete without her trusty cat by her side. Though Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete just launched in 2024, it’s clear that the 1989 film has not left the minds of many Hayao Miyazaki fans. Those who appreciate both Animal Crossing and Studio Ghibli’s films may be happy to know that Happycat40’s has also reproduced an iconic shot from My Neighbor Totoro, another classic from the iconic anime studio.
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete just recently released in early December, but fans of the series are likely already familiar with the title. Pocket Camp Complete is an offline, paid game that’s taking the place of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, which is no longer available to play. Thankfully, rather than simply shutting the mobile game down entirely with no replacement, Nintendo found a compromise, allowing players to transfer their camp data and continue playing in this new version of the game.
