Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth – Together Forever (Substory #50) Walkthrough

In Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, upon arrival in Hawaii in Chapter 3, the game introduces the return of the Poundmates service, the special summon system previously introduced in Yakuza: Like a Dragon. This feature allows Kasuga, and Kiryu, when head of the party, to summon characters they’ve befriended to assist in battles. These special summons are unlocked by completing Substories as Kasuga and Kiryu’s Memoirs of a Dragon.

The first Poundmate players encounter is Chitose Buster Holmes in Substory 4, “Busted!” This event occurs automatically as part of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth’s main story, where players meet Chitose after a misunderstanding. After a bit of back and forth with Kasuga, she offers her support through the Poundmates service.

Chitose’s relationship with Kasuga is unique compared to other Poundmates, as he will also encounter her outside of battle. She can be found at the Oahu Burger on Aloha Street, where speaking with her for the first time will provide the Heiress job experience item. However, their interaction extends further, leading to Substory 50, “Together Forever,” an exclusive substory involving Chitose. Here’s how players can unlock and complete Substory 50: Together Forever in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

How to Unlock Substory 50: Together Forever

To unlock Substory 50, players must meet specific criteria similar to unlocking Machiko’s Substory 49, “She Never Misses.” The requirements include:

1. Summoning Chitose as a Poundmate in battle ten times
2. Giving her three specific gifts available from shops in Hawaii
3. Raising Kasuga’s Passion to Level 7

To give gifts to Chitose, Kasuga should head to Oahu Burger and speak with her. Each time, she will request a specific gift, and Kasuga makes a note to return with it when he can. To satisfy her requests, players will need to purchase these gifts for her:

• Hibiscus Bouquet, which can be purchased at Melia’s Leis and Flowers
• Matsumoto Shaved Ice Gift Set, which can be purchased at Matsumoto Shaved Ice
• Hawaiian Cosmetics, which can be purchased at Seaworthy Treasures on Waikiki Street

Players can use the map’s list of stores to easily locate these businesses, and will find each location selling the required gift in exchange for a small amount of cash. After fulfilling all three conditions, Substory 50 will become available.

How to Complete Substory 50: Together Forever

Once Kasuga has handed over all three gifts and meets the other prerequisites, he will receive a text message from Chitose, inviting him to meet at Oahu Burger. Their meeting then shifts to a more secluded alley, where Chitose confesses her feelings, misunderstanding Kasuga’s intentions of facing challenges together as a romantic proposition.

The situation escalates with the unexpected arrival of Gary Buster Holmes, Chitose’s father and the revered Gatekeeper of Purgatory, who expresses his displeasure towards Kasuga for upsetting his daughter. The unfortunate encounter ends with Kasuga left on the ground, alone, in the alley. This concludes Substory 50: Together Forever with, unfortunately, no additional rewards.
