Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection has received Update 1.3.0, aimed at enhancing overall gameplay and addressing specific issues, including a save error and various bugs. Unveiled during the PlayStation Showcase, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 includes five titles: the original Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

Released on October 24, the Master Collection drew considerable attention, though not all were positive. Konami acknowledged over a dozen issues with Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 a day before its release. Among them were reports of subtitle typos in all EU language versions and buggy triggers for background music in some cutscenes in the MGS3 remaster. An unspecified visual effect also faced a timing delay, potentially impacting the first two MGS games. The PC remasters lacked the option to choose between windowed and full-screen modes, and Metal Gear Solid 2 has slowdown issues in specific cutscenes.
