Metro Boomin, the man behind the soundtrack of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, has taken up a fascinating Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 challenge for his highly anticipated album, Pluto. The album, which was subject to widespread speculation for a long time, was confirmed by Metro a few months back, when he announced that he will be collaborating with rap sensation Future for his upcoming project. But before that, Metro Boomin is all set to delve deeper into Marvel Spider-Man 2‘s universe.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse‘s soundtrack was an absolute blockbuster when it was released, with Post Malone’s hit Sunflower securing a lasting position as one of today’s most celebrated tracks. Anticipation was sky-high for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and the Metro Boomin album met these expectations with colossal success. The album not only managed to reach number one on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, but also debuted at number seven on the Billboard 200. Just like the soundtrack, the movie also enjoyed commercial success, and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 incorporates several interesting Across the Spider-Verse references.
Insomniac Devs Had ‘Heated’ Meeting With Sony During Spider-Man 2 Development
While Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was one of the most critically acclaimed games of 2023, Insomniac Games reveals that the journey was rife with challenges.
In a new tweet, Metro Boomin provided an update on his album Pluto, which fans have been eagerly waiting to hear more about. Posting a picture of himself playing Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, he stated that the album cannot be finished until he beats the game. Fans have been particularly intrigued by his unconventional setup, which sports a fancy briefcase monitor. Replying to another fan who was curious about how far he has progressed, Metro revealed a picture of his save file that depicts he has completed 4% of the game. As many speculated whether he is aiming for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2‘s platinum trophy, Metro dismissed such claims with laughter.
With the picture revealing that he last played the game over three weeks ago, fans humorously inquired whether his strategy is to complete one mission every month. Others have been quite worried, asking him to pick up the pace since at his current rate the album will not arrive before 2026, if ever. Funnily enough, it seems like Metro is having an unexpected experience in the game, as evident from his subsequent tweets about the infamous quests in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Ridiculing the Peter quests in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Metro emphasized his preference for the game’s action elements over mundane tasks like disposing of old fruits in a trashcan, an objective players have to complete as part of the “Roll Like We Used To” mission. Fans were having a field day with this tweet, considering that these commonly occurring quests in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 have been a point of never-ending debate. However, others encouraged him to stick to it, highlighting that the gameplay experience improves significantly in the later stages of the game. As Metro struggles to emulate a day in the life of Peter Parker, fans are just hoping he can beat the game over the holidays so they can get the album as soon as possible.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
The sequel to 2018’s Spider-Man and its Miles Morales spin-off, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a PS5 console exclusive. Insomniac’s open-world game features Peter Parker and Miles Morales as dual protagonists, with the two heroes going up against the likes of Kraven, Venom, and Lizard.
