Naruto’s story is legendary, and it must be said that this Character is close to the hearts of millions of people all over the world. This doesn’t come add a surprise to any fan, and it is the big reason why this story became a global phenomenon. Naruto became one of the most popular stories of all time, and even today, a decade after its conclusion, Naruto is talked about almost as if it was still ongoing as a series. Curiously enough, Naruto did end up getting a sequel story, named Boruto, and this is something that fans truly have a split opinion on. However, it is safe to say that Boruto did not live up to the expectations set by Naruto, which is why many fans want a better sequel.

How The Story Of Naruto Uzumaki Ended In The Original Series

Naruto Fought and Saved Sasuke

Naruto Ended The Ninja War

The story of Naruto Uzumaki was one filled with hope and belief. Despite being an outcast, Naruto turned his life upside down by never giving up and sticking to his ninja way. Although he had a different beast sealed inside of him, Naruto still fought incredibly hard and even went as far as turning his biggest enemy into his biggest strength. That is the kind of character Naruto Uzumaki was and, right until the very end of the story, he’s stuck by his ideals. Above all, Naruto never gave up on those whom he truly believed in, and he never gave up on the kindness in those people, especially when Naruto went to incredible lengths to save his friend, such as Sasuke. Most would have given up on Sasuke, but Naruto didn’t, and that was truly special in more ways than one, such is what set Naruto Uzumaki apart.

By turning his biggest weaknesses into his biggest strengths, Naruto reached an incredible level of strength where he could even save those who were led astray. This was a journey that he made so that he delivered upon every promise that he ever made. At the end of Naruto, he fought with Sasuke Uchiha, who, at this point, wanted to lead a revolution. Of course, this wasn’t easy for Naruto to accomplish, but, by pushing his desire to save his friend, Naruto eventually succeeded.

With Sasuke having been saved, Naruto and Sasuke ended the Fourth Graat Ninja War together, and peace return to the world. Fans got to see Sasuke on a journey Of redemption, and at the same time, Naruto Uzumaki working towards becoming the Hokage and fulfilling his dream. This was the phenomenal end of Naruto that fans got, and was certainly something that all the readers alike loved.

The Beginning Of The Boruto Series and What Went Wrong

Naruto Uzumaki and Boruto Uzumaki Were At Odds With Each Other

With the conclusion of the Naruto series, fans finally got to see what came next, and that was Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. At first, the beginning of Boruto was written by none other than Kishimoto himself, and it was clear to see that he was testing out new ideas. In Kishimoto’s view, Boruto was completely opposite, and he was exciting in a different way. Whereas Naruto had everything to acquire, Boruto always had everything from the beginning, and, because of that, it could be said that Boruto did not understand things as Naruto did.

At the beginning of the series, Boruto Uzumaki was also a spoiled brat, and it was sad to see that Naruto’s son was completely different to him. However, that is exactly what made this dynamic so special. With time, Boruto Uzumaki came to appreciate the way of the Ninja, and loved and respected his father.

In the beginning, Boruto was quite popular, but with time, it became clear that Boruto would never go on to reach similar heights and that in the grand scheme of things, it was a story largely carried by the love fans had for Naruto.

The approach of the Boruto series was completely wrong in many ways. For one, the story itself lacked in ideas. The characters were not interesting enough, and this included the villains as wel. What fans hated the most, however, was the fact that Boruto used the characters from Naruto to gain the attention of the fans, at the end of things, ended up treating them horribly wrong. This has remained as a trend for many years, until the legacy that Naruto had set up for its own characters was essentially destroyed completely. With time, all these factors caused Boruto’s downfall, and the popularity started dwindling down. It is because of these issues that fans believe there can be an even better sequel series that doesn’t revolve around the story of Boruto Uzumaki.

How Naruto Can Be Salvaged With A New Sequel Series

A Naruto Series Set After The Ninja War Would Be Fun

The story of Naruto can essentially be salvaged with a new sequel. This time around, however, the sequel would be focused on the story of Naruto Uzumaki and not Boruto. Essentially, for any sequel to work in this franchise, the story has to be around characters that fans know of. If one talks about a sequel, then, Naruto is, of course, the best character to continue this story. Now, fans would wonder as to how that would even work, given that Boruto is part of the Naruto canon following the events of the Ninja War.

However, it must be remembered that there is a blank period between the war and the Boruto era of about 15 or so years. During this time period, The author can do a lot more with the story, and create a sequel that the fans can actually come to love. These stories will revolve around characters from Naruto who everyone has come to love over the years, and if handled properly, this continuation of Naruto would surely be widely loved and accepted by the fans. This would be especially true if Kishimoto was the one behind the story, or at least involved to a certain extent.

Of course, a sequel to Naruto, other than Boruto, has not been hinted at ever, but, fans would absolutely love a story fit in between. One can rest assured that it will blow up in terms of popularity and give the fans what they have wanted for a long time.

Both Naruto and Boruto are available to read on Manga Plus.
