Now, the streamer has unveiled a teaser trailer for the show’s fourth edition, with Hemsworth as the main lead.

The Witcher book author Andrzej Sapkowski was impressed by the Netflix show’s set, but his ideas for the production were not welcome.
The trailer opens with the sound of a horse’s hooves echoing through a scary forest. As the clip moves ahead, fans catch a glimpse of the person leading the horse, presumably Geralt. The scene transitions to showing a figure with blonde hair walking through the woods. The clip shifts to a head of blonde hair as fans get their first look at Geralt walking. In the final moments of the clip, viewers get their first look at Hemsworth in the role. The streamer captioned the clip with “The journey continues. Here’s your first look at Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher.” However, the teaser and the post didn’t unveil the release date for Season 4 of The Witcher.
Although the trailer didn’t unveil anything more than Hemsworth’s appearance, the setting of the entire clip makes it clear how his character’s journey is going to be. Even though the trailer just reveals Hemsworth’s face, fans have already deemed him incapable of acting. The casting changes in The Witcher may understandably lead to some disappointment among fans. Cavill portrayed the role of Geralt with exceptional precision, contributing some of the series’ most memorable moments. However, the fan base has been so negative that Hemsworth’s co-star Freya Allan had to come forward to defend the star. In a recent interview, Allan noted how bad she feels for the actor making his debut in Season 4. She said, “I don’t want to speak for him, but from what I’ve understood, I feel like he’s really wanting to try and bring the heart. He’s been training. I feel sorry for him, honestly.”
Viewers should definitely give Hemsworth a chance to showcase his acting talent. He has the physicality needed for the role and can bring a fresh perspective to Geralt’s character. Additionally, the show’s writers and directors have a strong track record of creating compelling narratives and character arcs, ensuring that Hemsworth will have the support needed to succeed in this iconic role. The streaming platform hasn’t announced a release date for the series, but reports suggest that it might arrive in the second half of 2025.
All three seasons of The Witcher are currently available for streaming on Netflix.
