  • The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 cheating community supposedly has advanced cheats that can disable cheats during investigations.
  • Call of Duty acknowledged a spike in cheaters, implementing upgrades to the anti-cheat system for the future.

A YouTuber has gained access to one of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 cheating community’s most exclusive Discords and revealed one of its more advanced cheats, which can apparently detect when a user is being investigated and disable a user’s cheats at certain, important moments. Like many popular FPS games, cheating has been a common issue in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 since its release.

Recently, Call of Duty addressed its cheating problems by acknowledging that its Richochet Anti-Cheat system has tracked a spike in cheaters over recent months. The short update further explained that Call of Duty developers implemented new upgrades to Ricochet and are working on additional improvements for the future. However, players remain frustrated at the prevalence of cheaters, especially in the upper echelons of modes like Warzone‘s Ranked Resurgence or Modern Warfare 3‘s Ranked Play.

Former Call of Duty Black Ops Developers Form New ‘Remote-First’ Studio

A new studio headed by former lead Call of Duty developers hints at its first game, which is taking a much different approach than the popular series.

YouTuber NukeJesus uploaded a video that explained he spent years infiltrating one of the most exclusive cheating groups in Call of Duty. Apparently, one of the ways that Ricochet investigates suspected cheaters is by taking a series of screenshots of a user’s perspective during a match. At the video’s 6:15 mark, NukeJesus revealed that one of the group’s cheats can recognize when Ricochet is about to take one of these screenshots and disable a user’s cheats in the same millisecond that a screenshot is being taken. The video shows that one user successfully avoided 44 Ricochet screenshots in one game, and NukeJesus stated that he’s heard of over 100 screenshots being avoided.

How Call of Duty Cheaters Stay Undetected

The YouTuber further claimed that six of the top 10 ranked players in Modern Warfare 3 Ranked Play are cheaters and members of the previously mentioned Discord, and also explained that the highest levels of Ranked Warzone have similar issues. Because anti-cheat systems and their upgrades are usually reactive in nature, cheats in most games are often ahead of these deterrents, but Call of Duty clearly has a major issue.

Recently, Call of Duty has also suffered from a new in-game exploit that allows users to fire unlimited, semi-automatic grenades from an underbarrel launcher. On February 27, Call of Duty‘s development team disabled this attachment type to investigate the issue, and the attachment is still disabled at the time of writing.

In more positive news, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile just unveiled its release date, which falls on March 21. Android and iOS users will be able to drop in to Verdansk and Fortune’s Keep while earning XP for the same account as the one used on their console or PC.
