- Celestia’s exact location in Genshin Impact has been a topic of speculation, but Version 4.4 seemingly reveals it is directly above Chenyu Vale.
- Some players previously believed Celestia to be above a lake connecting Bayda Harbor, Fontaine, and Liyue, but new findings place it above the western edge of Chenyu Vale.
- While the exact location of Celestia may still be disputed, future expansions in Genshin Impact suggest that Sumeru and Bayda Harbor may be connected to Khaenri’ah instead.
Players have long sought to pinpoint the exact location of Celestia in Genshin Impact, and thanks to Version 4.4, it would seem that the Heavenly Principles lie directly above Chenyu Vale. Though Xianyun and Gaming are the stars of Version 4.4, Chenyu Vale’s addition to Genshin Impact‘s map has long been anticipated, as it will connect Liyue and Fontaine together, while finally revealing the place where Baizhu’s master came from.
As Genshin Impact‘s Archon Quests follow the Traveler’s journey across Teyvat, from their humble beginnings in Mondstadt to the gilded courtrooms of Fontaine, it all seemingly leads to a singular destination: Celestia itself. Many theories have sprung up in the Genshin Impact community about Celestia over the years, from Paimon’s role in the story, to the silence of the Heavenly Principles, but even its location still remains a wildly disputed topic of speculation.
Rumor: Genshin Impact Changing Version 4.4 Banners
Recent leaks suggest Genshin Impact is shaking up its banner order yet again, this time for Version 4.4, when Xianyun is slated to make her debut.
Celestia Is Directly Above Chenyu Vale in Genshin Impact
While Version 4.4 will not take players to Celestia, it will apparently take them directly below it. Contrary to previous Genshin Impact theories that placed Celestia above a lake that connected Bayda Harbor in Sumeru with Fontaine and Liyue, it would seem that Celestia resides above the western edge of Chenyu Vale. The exact location was pinpointed by mirukoreal, whose findings were shared on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit by ukrisreng, a regular contributor.
It should be noted that the location of Celestia famously moved in Version 2.6, and some skeptics believe that its current location is a placeholder too. However, if Bayda Harbor does end up one of the last map expansions in Genshin Impact before Celestia becomes a playable location, it’s more likely that the Sumeru location is being saved for Khaenri’ah instead. A possible door to Khaenri’ah was already discovered in Genshin Impact‘s Version 3.6 in the Girdle of the Sands, and given its position, it’s quite likely that Bayda Harbor (located in northern Sumeru) has another gate as well.
That being said, Celestia and Khaenri’ah are still a few years away, as Genshin Impact‘s Version 4.6 is expanding Fontaine with a “ruins of Remuria” zone. Version 5.0 will focus on the Pyro Nation of Natlan, and any map expansions in subsequent updates remain solely in the realm of speculation. Though players can’t obtain a lot of Primogems from area exploration on its own, Version 4.4 promises an opportunity for players to stock up on around a hundred pulls in total, which should help them in summoning Xianyun, Xiao, Nahida, or Yae Miko – the rumored characters of Version 4.4’s Event Banners.
