Much like several Final Fantasy titles, Octopath Traveler 2 features a job system that lets characters swap out some of their abilities and weapons. And while each character has a permanent primary job that they can perform better than anyone else, they can also have a secondary job that makes them much more dangerous.
However, the problem with these secondary jobs is that you need to unlock them. Octopath Traveler 2 features a guild for every job, and you need to find them if you want your characters to multiclass. Each guild has its own unique location in the world, and this guide will help you locate and unlock them all.

Caits and octopuffs are great ways to get experience in Octopath Traveler 2, but first you’ll need to find and defeat them.
Every Basic Guild Location
In general, all the guilds are in tier two locations, and every character starts in the same land as their guild. This means the Hunters Guild is in Toto’haha with Ochette, the Apothecaries Guild is in the Harborlands with Castti, and so on.
You can spot each guild on the radar, because they have a unique checkerboard shield icon that points to their location. Once you make contact with a guild, you can also find this icon next to the region or town they’re in on the world map. However, this icon won’t appear if you haven’t found the guild.

How to Get Every Guild License
Finding each guild is good enough to unlock one secondary job slot, but you can get more by earning licenses. This means that up to three characters can share the same secondary job at the same time, which is a good way to overwhelm an enemy with a particularly good job like Merchant or Scholar.
Job |
Second License |
Third License |
---|---|---|
Hunter |
Quicksand Monster’s Liver, beat the Lord of the Sands in Hinoeuma: Quicksand Gaol |
Sea Monster’s Whisker, beat the Scourge of the Sea, found in a whirlpool between Toto’haha and the Brightlands |
Apothecary |
3 Herb-of-Grace Buds, sold by a Black Market merchant in New Delsta Flats, keep switching to night until the right one appears |
3 Primeval Horn Elixir, dropped by Devil Deer in House Wellows Manor dungeon, stealing may be more effective |
Thief |
Thieves Gem, inventory of Old Man by Clockbank entrance |
Master Thief’s Sapphire Stone, in a chest in Shipwreck of the Empress dungeon |
Scholar |
5 Ancient Sentinel Cores, dropped by sentinel enemies in The Roque Company: Factory in Clockbank |
5 Almighty Soulstones, can steal from elemental enemies that appear at night in Western Winterbloom Snows |
Merchant |
Pay 100,000 leaves |
Pay 300,000 leaves |
Dancer |
Have one Dancer who knows the Divine skill (Agnea counts) |
Have two Dancers who know the Divine skill |
Cleric |
High Priest’s Amulet, found in a chest in Starfall Spring off Southern Cropdale Trail |
High Priest’s Book of Scripture, beat the Dreadwolf in Beneath the Wall dungeon off Southern Stormhail Snows |
Warrior |
Have one Warrior who knows the Divine skill (Hikari counts) |
Have two Warriors who know the Divine skill |
Note that there are several places where you can find the Herb-of-Grace Buds, the Ancient Sentinel Cores, and the Almighty Soulstones. However, the methods listed are among the easiest ways of getting them. As for the Primeval Horn Elixirs, the Devil Deer appear to be the only source, and they only appear in the House Wellows Manor dungeon.
How to Get Every Hidden Job
Along with the eight basic jobs, you can also find four secret advanced jobs. Getting these jobs is more complicated than unlocking the basic guilds, and you only ever get one job slot for each one, but in exchange, these jobs have very useful skills you can’t get anywhere else.
