One Piece: 6 Characters Zoro Needs To Surpass In The Final Saga

In the final saga of One Piece, Zoro is going to be incredibly important, just like any other Straw Hat. Since Zoro is a character whose ambition is based upon fighting, some of the biggest fights in this part of the story are going to come through him. Zoro’s ambition of becoming the strongest in the entire world is going to be fulfilled in this arc and he has already made great strides in that regard.

However, Zoro isn’t the strongest at this point and there are many characters that he needs to surpass if he wants to reach the utmost pinnacle of swordsmanship.

6 Fujitora

The Marine Admiral

Zoro is quite a powerful character, however, he is not as strong as a Marine Admiral just yet. When it comes to the Marine Admirals, Fujitora is one character that Zoro should be striving to surpass. This is simply down to the fact that he appears to be a traditional swordsman who also combines his swordplay with tremendous Devil Fruit powers.

Zoro has already clashed with him once and Oda already gave him a taste of the Marine Admiral’s incredible power. However, Zoro is far from reaching his level and surpassing it. In the final saga, Zoro will have to make great strides and improve his control over his Haki in order to surpass Fujitora.

5 Rayleigh

Roger’s Right Hand Man

Roger’s right-hand man and the Vice Captain of the Roger Pirates, Rayleigh is an incredibly powerful swordsman even in his old age. In his prime, he was likely on the same level as the Yonko themselves and Oda has, on many occasions, likened him to the legends of the One Piece world. Rayleigh is tremendously overpowered, thanks to his control over Haki.

Right now, even though he is old, he is much stronger than Zoro. He needs to level up his swordplay and Haki to a point where he can best Rayleigh in his old state. Reaching the level of prime really is going to be even more difficult, however, if Luffy is to surpass Roger, then Zoro should, at the very least, surpass Rayleigh as well.

4 Mihawk

The World’s Strongest Swordsman

The man known as the Strongest Swordsman in the entire world, Mihawk is one of the strongest characters in One Piece and when it comes to swordplay, he is utterly unmatched. Mihawk has already defeated Zoro once, however, he has full faith in him and believes that he will one day come to challenge him again.

Zoro has leveled up his swordplay tremendously ever since their last fight, however, he’s still not on the same level. In the upcoming arcs, Zoro will have to strengthen his blade and resolve in order to reach the same level as Mihawk and finally take his throne from him.

3 Oden

The Legendary Samurai Of Wano

Once known as the prodigal son, Kozuki Oden was one of the strongest swordsmen to have ever graced the world of One Piece. His strength was such that even as a child, he was almost unstoppable in battle. Oden possessed tremendous strength as well as skill with his swords. In fact, by the time he was 18, he could already trade blows with the likes of the legends of the world, such as Whitebeard.

By the time he returned to Wano, Oden had gotten several times stronger than he was when he left. He could even kill Kaido in combat and that just goes to show his level of skill. He was surely one of the strongest swordsmen and Zoro is far from his level at this point in time. In the upcoming few years, Zoro will have to reach his level and surpass him.

2 Ryuma

The God Of The Blade

Ryuma was famed as the God of the Blade once and he is surely one of the strongest swordsmen that Oda has ever written into his story.

Given that he’s from the same family line as Zoro, the Straw Hat Swordsman is destined to surpass him at one point. However, right now, Zoro isn’t on his level and will need to train harder to get there.

1 Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro

One Of The Five Elders

The Five Elders have recently been confirmed to be characters with incredible fighting prowess in One Piece, and one of them, Saint Ethanbaron v. Nusjuro is an incredibly powerful swordsman who wields one of the Supreme Grade Swords, Shodai Kitetsu.

It is quite clear for the fans to see that he’s an incredibly powerful swordsman who also possesses some unknown Devil Fruit power. Undoubtedly, he is a character for Zoro to surpass if he wants to be the strongest swordsman in the entire world.
