One of the Four Emperors of the Sea, Shanks is a monstrously powerful pirate who might even be the strongest right now in the Final Saga of One Piece. Shanks became an emperor 6 years ago and, ever since then, has been at the peak of his abilities. Despite not having a Devil Fruit, Shanks is quite easily among the strongest, and much of that is down to his monstrously powerful Haki.

In fact, Shanks might even be the strongest Haki user alive right now, which makes him truly special. Shanks has been in many powerful battles, and although fans do not know the result of all of his battles, there are some major victories that he has claimed along the way in One Piece.

6 Higuma

Defeated By Red Hair Pirates In The East Blue

Higuma the bandit is one of the earliest enemies Shanks faced in the story. Fans know Higuma to have been a lowly bandit, with unimpressive levels of strength. Of course, against someone like him, Shanks was never going to fight seriously. Shanks even let Higuma embarrass him, just because he did not think any threat he posed was serious enough for him to do anything.

However, as soon as Higuma started pointing at his friends, Shanks got serious. The Red Hair Pirates absolutely destroyed Higuma’s group, and forced the leader to escape. Of course, Shanks did not go into a 1v1 battle with Higuma himself, but, overall, he was the one who defeated Higuma’s unit, and eventually, saved Luffy’s life as well, which is one of the groundbreaking events in the entire story that shapes the future immense greatly.

5 CP9 Agents

Shanks Acquired The Gomu Gomu no Mi From The CP9

Long before Shanks even met Luffy in Fushia Village, he decided to sail into the East Blue. In this sea, Shanks managed to attack a Government vessel, and on this vessel, the incredibly powerful Gomu Gomu no Mi was present. Shanks knew of this somehow, and in order to secure the fruit, attacked the vessel. There were CP9 agents on the ship, including Who’s Who.

Shanks, being as strong as he is, utterly destroyed them, and successfully secured the Gomu Gomu no Mi. This Devil Fruit was then taken by Shanks with him, all the way to the village where Luffy ended up consuming it.

4 Ryokugyu

Shanks Forced Green Bull to Submit In Wano

In the Wano Country arc, Shanks showcased a glimpse of his strength. Moments after the war against Kaido was over, Admiral Green Bull attacked the country. His goal was to claim Luffy’s head to make Akainu happy. However, before Ryokugyu could even get to Luffy, he was stopped by the Akazaya Nine. Unfortunately, they struggled against him, but it was Shanks who decided to intervene, and utilized his powerful Conqueror’s Haki from miles away.

This Conqueror’s Haki caused visible pain to Green Bull, and at the same time, forced him into submission. Of course, once again, this was not a full-fledged battle, and one that did not see Shanks knocking out Green Bull. However, the fact that Green Bull clearly forfeited is proof enough that Shanks was the one who emerged as the winner of this minor clash.

3 Bartolomeo

The Red Hair Pirates Destroyed The Barto Club

Bartolomeo is a very powerful pirate in the new world, and also an underling of Luffy. At one point, Bartolomeo burned down Shanks’s flag in his territory and replaced it with that of the Straw Hat Pirates. Shanks clearly could not stand this and had to do something about it. In the Final Saga, Shanks located Bartolomeo, and essentially destroyed the entire crew.

Bartolomeo was ready to take his own life to protect Luffy, and while Shanks did spare him, it was Yasopp who ended up destroying the ship of the Red-haired Pirates, essentially adding another victory to Shanks’s book.

2 Killer

Shanks Took Down Killer With An Attack Not Even Meant For Him

Killer is a powerful Worst Generation pirate who ended up coming face to face with Shanks in the Final Saga. After the victory of the Kid Pirates in Wano, they sailed to Elbaf, where they planned to fight against the Red-haired Pirates, and take down Shanks.

Unfortunately for them, Shanks decimated them before they even stepped foot in Elbaf. As for Killer, he stepped in the path of Shanks’s attack and took the brunt of it, being completely destroyed and knocked out in the process. While this is a massive feat for Shanks, it is absolutely humiliating for Killer, especially because the attack the Shanks launched wasn’t even meant for him, but it still ended up taking him down in a single shot anyway.

1 Kid

Shanks Took Down The 3 Billion Berry Pirate

Kid is one of the Worst Generation Pirates with a bounty of 3 billion berries. Clearly, he is one of the big shots in the New World, and one the Shanks took seriously outside of Elbaf when they met for a short period of time. Kid thought he was ready to take down Shanks, but was given a reality check when the Red Hair Emperor took him down with a single swing of his sword.

Shanks coated his sword in his Haki, and then unleashed a powerful attack on the Worst Generation pirate, utterly decimating him and taking him down in a single shot. To date, this is Shanks’s most impressive known victory in the story, and fans can rest assured that many more will follow when his future battles take place, as well as when his past is revealed.
