They have also received some of the coolest monikers that fans have heard in One Piece, but, not all of them are equally as good.
10 Cotton Candy Lover
- Moniker Of: Chopper
- Bounty: 1000 Berries
Chopper is also known as Cotton Candy Lover in One Piece. By far, this is the least exciting moniker that any Straw Hat Pirate has ever received. Chopper’s moniker is simply based on the fact that he loves cotton candy, and even his bounty poster showcased him eating it.
He’s considered to be the pet of the Strawhat Pirates, which is also why the people of the world likely didn’t bother giving him an exciting moniker.
9 Cyborg
- Moniker Of: Franky
- Bounty: 394 Million Berries
Franky is the shipwright of the Straw Hat Pirates, and he is also known as the Cyborg. Franky is extremely powerful, and most of his power is derived from the scientific prowess that he holds.
He turned his own body into that of a cyborg after his accident against the Puffing Tom long ago. Ever since then, he has been a Cyborg. Naturally, his epithet of Cyborg fits him perfectly. It is a simple epithet, but it does the job.
8 Cat Burglar
- Moniker Of: Nami
- Bounty: 366 Million Berries
Cat Burglar Nami is one of the most unique epithets that any Strawhat Pirate has. Nami was known to be a thief who specifically stole from pirates in the early parts of One Piece, and that is where this epithet comes from.
She is still a thief at her core, but now, thieving is not her main concern.
Still, Nami’s epithet is always going to stick with her, and it will always be remembered as an iconic name among the fans.
7 Pirate Hunter
- Moniker Of: Zoro
- Bounty: 1.111 Billion Berries
Pirates Hunter Zoro is certainly one of the coolest epithets in One Piece. When Zoro set out on his journey to find Mihawk, he ended up fighting many pirates. In fact, hunting pirates is how he made a living and survived in the first place. He used to turn them over to the Marines, and earn high bounties for them, which is obvious, given that he was a Bounty Hunter.
Zoro being called the Pirate Hunter in the East Blue was certainly a very cool and exciting way for Oda to depict his dangerous demeanor and demon-like aura.
6 Soul King
- Moniker Of: Brook
- Bounty: 383 Million Berries
Soul King Brook embodies the rock and roll of One Piece, and this is certainly an electric epithet that Oda has given him. Before the timeskip, Brook was known as Humming Brook, or, on some occasions, Dead Bones Brook.

5 Knight of the Sea
- Moniker Of: Jinbe
- Bounty: 1.1 Billion Berries
The helmsman of the Strawhat Pirates, Jinbe has an exciting epithet as well, and he is known as the Knight of the Sea.
Jinbe is an honorable person, and above all, a well-respected individual across the oceans. For him to be named as the Knight of the Sea is certainly a fitting epithet.
4 God/Sogeking
- Moniker Of: Usopp
- Bounty: 500 Million Berries
Usopp has had some of the best epithets in One Piece. In fact, among the Straw Hat Pirates, his epithets certainly stand out quite a bit. Usopp was known as Sogeking before the timeskip, as he took on its persona during the Enies Lobby arc.
After the time skip, specifically after his new bounty following the events of Dressrosa, he came to be known as God Usopp instead. There’s hardly any epithet better than God in One Piece.
3 Blackleg
- Moniker Of: Sanji
- Bounty: 1.032 Billion Berries
The chef of the Straw Hat Pirates, Sanji is a ferocious fighter and an individual with tremendous amounts of strength. Although he is a very gentle and kind individual, he does not shy away from hurting those who hurt his friends.
Sanji primarily uses his legs, because he thinks his hands are sacred and meant only to cook for his friends. Because of this, he has the epithet of Blackleg. His epithet mirrors that of Zeff, who was known as Red Leg, because the blood of his enemies would dye his legs red.
2 Demon Child/Light Of the Revolution
- Moniker Of: Nico Robin
- Bounty: 930 Million Berries
Nico Robin, the archaeologist of the Strawhat Pirates, has one of the best epithets in the entire series. She is known as the Demon Child, and this is because she was the only survivor of Ohara, who the people of the World Government believed to be demons for studying ancient history.
Their propaganda against them took root in the minds of people, and Robin came to be known as the Demon Child all over the world. Robin is also known as the Light of the Revolution, which is her second epithet.
1 Straw Hat
- Moniker Of: Luffy
- Bounty: 3 Billion Berries
By far, the best and the most iconic epithet in all of One Piece is Straw Hat. Luffy was given this epithet very early in the series, and it is a defining character design trait that he has.
All of Luffy’s enemies refer to him as Strawhat, and it is safe to say that it has been immortalized as his name, especially among his enemies and the Marines and the World Government.
