Luffy could have another power up after Gear 5 in One Piece.

While different swordsmen excel at different things, one thing that every major swordsman needs to survive in the New World is Haki. The mastery of Haki is essential for every powerful swordsman with their salt and, over the years, fans have seen quite a lot of powerful Haki users that are also swordsmen.

7 Trafalgar Law

Trafalgar Law one piece episode 1065

  • User of Kikoku
  • Haki Types: Armament, Observation

While not a traditional swordsman, Law is incredibly powerful. He makes use of his cursed sword, Kikoku, in combat and he has done so extremely well over the years. Law is more reliant on his Devil Fruit power. As such, when it comes to the usage of Haki as a swordsman, Law doesn’t rank all that high.

That is not to say that Law doesn’t have a decent Haki. His Haki is quite powerful, especially after Wano, where he learned how to counter Devil Fruit powers by overexerting his Haki. However, as a whole, Law is not a strong Haki-based swordsman.

6 Fujitora

Fujitora Manipulating Gravity On Dressrosa In One Piece

  • Wielder of An Unnamed Shikomizue
  • Haki Types: Armament, Observation

Fujitora is quite powerful and certainly one of the best swordsmen in One Piece. He is a Devil Fruit user who combines his fruit powers with his swordsmanship and the fact that he’s blind means that he has to make high-level usage of Observation Haki throughout combat.

Fujitora is an excellent fighter and certainly one of the strongest that the Marines possessed. He possesses two types of Haki and his mastery over both seems immense.

5 Zoro

  • User Of Wado Ichimonji, Sandai Kitetsu, Enma
  • Haki Types: Armament, Observation, Conqueror’s

Zoro is one of the strongest swordsmen in One Piece and his bounty of 1.111 billion berries certainly goes to show for it. He is a master swordsman already and his three-sword style has excelled quite a lot over the years.

Zoro has an incredible fighting style that he powers up with his tremendous Haki. Having learned how to coat his swords in Conqueror’s Haki, Zoro is on the path to greatness, however, he hasn’t reached his full potential just yet.

4 Silvers Rayleigh

  • User of an Unnamed Saber
  • Haki Types: Armament, Observation, Conqueror’s

Silvers Rayleigh is an incredibly powerful swordsman who doesn’t rely on the usage of any Devil Fruit at all. Rayleigh, despite being old, is considered to be in the same league as the Yonko. It is evident that he is a master of Haki, given that he taught this skill to Luffy and, at the same time, fans also saw him use advanced forms of this power over the years.

Haki is an incredible skill for anyone to wield, and these characters rely solely on it.

Rayleigh also uses Conqueror’s Haki at an advanced level, as seen when he forced Blackbeard to retreat from Amazon Lily. Given that he’s currently old, he can only rank so high on the list, however, in his prime state, he could potentially have been even higher, given that fans do not know exactly how strong he was.

3 Dracule Mihawk

dracule mihawk

  • User Of Yoru
  • Haki Types: Armament, Observation

Dracule Mihawk is the man who currently holds the title of the World’s Strongest Swordsman and, of course, he couldn’t have attained this title without having tremendous Haki. Mihawk carries one of the Supreme Grade Swords, Yoru, which is already blackened, signifying that he has great control over at least Armament Haki.

It would be stupid for one to assume that Mihawk doesn’t have access to Conqueror’s Haki as well, but this hasn’t been confirmed yet. Furthermore, given that quite a lot of focus is thrown on Mihawk’s eyes, he is likely a master of Observation Haki as well. Taking all things into consideration, it can be said that Mihawk is one of the greatest Haki users in One Piece, however, it is his swordplay that he excels at the most and there are certainly better Haki users who also use a sword.

2 Kozuki Oden

One Piece Kozuki Oden using his two-sword style

  • User of Enma and Ame no Habakiri
  • Haki Types: Armament, Observation, Conqueror’s

Kazuki Oden is one of the most underrated One Piece characters and certainly a monstrously powerful fighter at the same time. Hailing from Wano, Oden was a force to be reckoned with, who could clash against the likes of Whitebeard and Kaido, even when he was far from reaching his prime as a fighter.

Over the years that he traveled with the likes of these legends, Oden increased his strength manifold. When he returned to Wano, he was in his prime and could fight against Yonko Kaido, even holding enough power to overpower and nearly kill him in combat. Oden possessed special Ryuo and he commanded advanced forms of Conqueror’s and Observation Haki, strong enough to even kill Kaido himself. When it comes to pure Haki, few can rival him.

1 Shanks

  • User Of Gryphon
  • Haki Types: Armament, Observation, Conqueror’s

Undoubtedly, the strongest user of Haki currently in One Piece is Shanks. Fans know this red-haired Emperor to be an extremely powerful fighter who, despite having just one arm, is a monstrously powerful fighter. Shanks has mastered his Haki to a tremendous degree over the years.

He is a user of all three forms of advanced Haki and his Conqueror’s Haki specifically appears to be the strongest in the world at the moment. Shanks was able to use his Haki to dismantle both Kid and Killer in a single swing of his sword and that just goes to show how dangerous he truly is. What’s more, he probably hasn’t even revealed what his truly capable of.
