Highlights

  • A Palworld player found a surprising glitch after increasing the Pal spawn rate to 10 times the usual number.
  • The glitch in question saw a centipede-like line of Mammorests spawning, which was surprisingly unsettling.
  • Despite glitches, Palworld has sold millions, becoming a big hit in 2024 with plenty of potential for improvement.

A Palworld player witnessed a bizarre bug with several Mammorests spawning together after setting the game’s Pal spawn rate to 10 times the usual number. Palworld allows players to highly customize the worlds they play in, but some of these options may not be working perfectly right now, as discovered by this gamer.

Palworld was released in early access last month. As expected in this kind of release, though, the game was initially filled with many bugs, which have since been fixed by the developer Pocket Pair with periodic updates. Some of the worst issues included Palworld crashing constantly on Xbox, Pals not obeying commands, and holes created by missing textures on the floor. Not all glitches were terrible, though, and some of them were actually quite hilarious.

Palworld Player Shows Off Impressive Pirate Ship Base

A Palworld player builds an amazing pirate ship base in the middle of the game’s ocean by exploiting a known construction glitch.

Now, a Palworld player called Twinfails pushed their luck and discovered a new, weird glitch. Before starting a game, Palworld players can choose between different difficulties, including Custom, which allows gamers to customize several aspects of the experience. By picking this option, Twinfails decided to set the game’s Pal spawn rate to 10 times higher than the usual number. While Palworld advises gamers that increasing the Pal spawn rate can bring performance issues, it still allows them to do it. The result was that Twinfails barely opened the game after editing the world and already saw around ten or so Mammorests in a very uncanny, glitched line that looked like a bizarre centipede.

This is far from the only hilarious glitch that can be found in Palworld, though. For instance, a Palworld player discovered a giant translucid Arsox a few weeks ago. In a video shared by the gamer, it was possible to see them flying a Nitewing around the glitched Arsox, which was as huge as a mountain and became translucid when the player flew near it. Unfortunately, there was no explanation of how this crazy glitch happened.

Palworld May Have Rough Edges, But It’s Still a Big Hit

While Palworld is undeniably glitched and incomplete, it’s also very fun, and that’s why the survival game has been so successful. Not only did the title sell 15 million units on Steam, but it’s also available on Xbox Game Pass, and reached 10 million players on Xbox, according to its creators, which makes Palworld one of the biggest hits of 2024. Hopefully, this high player count will encourage developer Pocket Pair to improve the experience over time and iron out the bugs and performance issues that still plague the game.
