Palworld is home to over 150 pals that are spread across the Paldea region. In total, there are nine different elements that these pals can be a part of, and some hold two types to form a more versatile attacker. With great power does come some downside, as all elements suffer from a weakness against another element. Except for Neutral-type pals, this also means most elements will be stronger against another. For the Ground element, these pals are stronger against Electric pals but weaker to those of the Grass element.

Dumud is one of the 20 Ground elemental pals available in Palworld, and one of 13 to hold just Ground without a second element. Its squishy, lovable appearance will have players excited about catching one, even if it’s for the sake of watching it bounce around. While it won’t amaze its owner with sheer power or the ability to transport the player around Paldea quicker than on foot, Dumud comes with some utility that shouldn’t go ignored.

How To Get Dumud In Palworld

Dumud in Palworld happy

Despite the fact that Dumud can only be found in two centralized locations in Palworld, there are other methods of obtaining it other than as a static encounter in the wild. Players who wish to add Dumud to their team can find a Level 14 Alpha Boss version of this pal near the Ice Wind Island teleport point. Luckily, there are also wild Dumud roaming the area, making this a prime opportunity to catch multiple Dumud at once and obtaining a multiplier bonus for catching 12 at a time.

There are also two types of caverns that have the chance of landing a Dumud — Ravine Grotto and Cavern of the Dunes. There are eight Ravine Grotto caverns that can be found toward the middle of the map, with multiple fast travel waypoints around their vicinity, including Deep Bamboo Thicket, Investigator’s Fork, and Sealed Realm of the Winged Tyrant. For the Cavern of the Dunes entrances, players can use the Duneshelter, PIDF Tower, and Deep Sand Dunes fast travel points.

For the easiest and most convenient method, players can also hatch Dumud from a Rocky Egg. Since this is the base-form egg available in Palworld, the pool of available pals that can hatch from it will be larger than the other sizes, so the chance of obtaining a Dumud from a wild egg is signficantly lower. However, commonly-found pals like Celaray and Caprity can be used to breed a Rocky Egg that will always hatch a Dumud.

on hand to avoid killing Dumud, as they are quite squishy and won’t be able to take more than a couple of hits.

Dumud in Palworld location

Dumud may not be the strongest of pals in Palworld, but it’s located in areas that are dense with pals, including some hostile ones. Be sure to have the best armor and shield available to deal with preemptive attacks from third-partying pals who aren’t thrilled with human activity.

Dumud Skills & Work Suitability, Explained

Dumud in Palworld paldeck

Dumud is more of a defensive stalwart thanks to its higher HP and Defense stats, but that’s where the positives of its combat utility end. Dumud is quite unremarkable as an attacking pal, ranking 133 out of the 164 pals available in Palworld. Dumud does learn a good combination of Ground and Water elemental attacks, which can help with dealing damage to those pesky Fire-type pals, but there are simply too many powerful Grass elemental pals that can get in the way.

Back at the base, Dumud can be of service to players in need of some secondary assistance in a few roles. Sporting a Level 1 Transporting, Watering, and Farming work skill, and a Level 2 Watering ability, Dumud won’t be slacking too much with its versatility. Players are best served placing a few pals on a ranch and farming up some High Quality Pal Oil, especially since its animation will see it flopping around before squealing and popping out the item.

Additionally, Dumud is a suitable companion for an all-Ground team thanks to its partner skill, Soil Improver. Not only does it allow Dumud to drop High Quality Pal Oil on the ranch, it also powers up Ground-type active skills while on the team. Dumud can take a backseat on a team of five and give a significant boost to the attacks of some of the more powerful Ground pals available in Palworld.
