Although they bring to life the environments they are settled in, the camps where they spawn can lead to players making difficult decisions. The Good and the Bad of Palworld’s Enemy Camps


While the villages and towns of Palworld act as safe zones and allow for moments of reprieve, enemy camps function as the exact opposite. Despite the danger that they pose, they bring advantages to players who can overcome them. The benefits that they provide are the following:

  • Captured Pals that players can free and own without spending spheres
  • Enemies that drop ammo, gold, spheres, and materials when defeated
  • Enemies respawn after a certain period, along with a new randomly generated Pal in captivity

If one were to tackle these bases, an important piece of information to know is that an enemy camp’s strength is tied to that of their respective islands, allowing for careful consideration before engagement. With the right levels, equipment, and allies, players can easily free trapped Pals from faction-owned bases and farm enemies for resources repeatedly. Although this can be seen as a positive, the ease with which players can acquire materials that were intended to be difficult to earn can remove a bit of the game’s challenge.

The Different Human Factions and How They Affect a Player’s Base Location

While Palworld‘s human factions come short in terms of producing a compelling narrative, the scale at which their members spread their heinous activities makes them a viable threat. The following are the different factions that players can encounter:

  • Palpagos Island Defense Force (PIDF)
  • Rayne Syndicate
  • Free Pal Alliance (FPA)
  • Brothers of the Eternal Pyre
  • PAL Genetic Research Unit (PGRU)

Each one’s members are littered throughout the world, and the dangers they possess can range from being manageable to incredibly challenging. Except for the PDIF, the camps these factions have established encourage players to think carefully about where to build their bases.


Faction-owned camps having fixed locations means players must traverse the world to find them. No matter how many times players clear a camp, the location remains the same Players will always try to figure out the best base locations in Palworld, and these camps can deter them from otherwise perfect spots. Although players can remove camps by placing Palboxes and erecting bases within them, the game only allows a maximum of three, paling in comparison to the number of enemy camps available.

Even if a player were to remove them, it would mean losing a source of valuable self-replenishing materials, making it counterproductive to the game’s survival aspect. Adding an option to remove enemy camps such that they respawn in random locations with no other camps nearby can help fix the issue while also adding more variety to NPC threats and making them feel like more dynamic enemies.

With major updates such as Palworld‘s Pal Arena coming to shake up the game, a change in how enemy factions and their camps function could also have the same result. Whether it’s by giving these factions more of an interesting narrative or modifying their camp’s ability to spawn, such updates can help lead to more player engagement and enhanced gameplay.
