Persona 3 Reload goes a long way toward improving the gameplay mechanics from the original release, and the introduction of the Theurgy mechanic is one of the biggest combat additions. Theurgy skills allow Persona 3 Reload players to unleash powerful moves after fully filling a party member’s Theurgy Gauge, and each character has their own unique Theurgy skills available to them. However, some Theurgy skills are much stronger than others, and players will definitely want to prioritize the use of certain skills over others.
Most party members in Persona 3 Reload will have access to two Theurgy skills: one on their default Persona and another one that becomes available once they obtain their awakened Persona. The protagonist differs from the rest of the party in that they have access to seven different Theurgy skills that are unlocked by obtaining the two Personas associated with the skill. While all SEES members’ Theurgy skills are useful, some are much stronger than others and will have more utility in Persona 3 Reload‘s toughest battles.
Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5’s Parties Share a Problem that P6 Must Fix
Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 have a common threat between their parties that would be best not included in Persona 6’s party.
S-Tier Theurgy Skills in Persona 3 Reload

Persona |
Effect |
---|---|---|---|
Divine Intervention |
Ken |
Kala-Nemi |
Revives party, fully restores allies’ HP, and will reflect 1 attack. |
Revelation |
Fuuka |
Juno |
Grants 1 random positive enhanced effect to all allies |
Scarlet Havoc |
Protagonist |
Siegfried + Mithras |
Deals severe Slash damage to all foes, ignoring resistances. |
Armageddon |
Protagonist |
Helel + Satan |
Deals ultimate Almighty damage to all foes, but reduces user’s HP and SP to 1. |
Some of the best Theurgy skills in Persona 3 Reload are ones that provide critical support for the party when players find themselves in a tricky situation. Both Ken’s Divine Intervention and Fuuka’s Revelation can turn the tide of battle when the SEES members find themselves up against a difficult opponent. Revelation will almost always be worthwhile, but the buff it gives the party is random, and Divine Invention should be reserved for a comeback situation where multiple party members have been defeated.
The Persona 3 Reload protagonist also has two of the best Theurgy skills in the game with their Scarlet Havoc and Armageddon skills. Scarlet Havoc is the most consistently useful Theurgy skill since it deals severe-level damage to all foes regardless of their resistances. Meanwhile, Armageddon is a high-risk/high-reward skill since it deals ultimate-level Almighty damage at the cost of reducing the user’s HP and SP to 1.

Forneus + Decarabia |
Next physical/magic attack will deal more than double damage for 1 ally. |
Electric Onslaught |
Akihiko |
Caesar |
Deals Severe Elec damage to 1 foe, ignoring resistances. High chance of Shock. |
While not quite as powerful as the game’s best skills, each of these Theurgy skills can be devastating for enemies in Persona 3 Reload. Skills like Junpei’s Blaze of Life, Mitsuru’s Blade of Execution, and Akihiko’s Electric Onslaught each deal high amounts of damage while also having an additional effect. However, they are held back by only targeting one foe, rather than an entire group like some of the best Theurgy skills do.
Skills like Yukari’s Tranquility and Koromaru’s Power Howling are great support skills since they have the potential to double the damage dealt by each ally’s next attack. The protagonist’s Best Friends skill has a similar effect but requires players to have obtained the Forneus and Decarabia Personas. These skills don’t guarantee that the next attack will hit or deal more damage than certain other Theurgy skills, so players will need to use them strategically for the best effect.

Most of these Theurgy skills are the SEES member’s default ones, and the majority allow them to deal severe damage of their Persona’s elemental type to one enemy while ignoring resistances. There are a few exceptions to this rule that stand out as some of the more solid early-game Theurgy skills.
For example, Fuuka’s Oracle skill is just a slightly weaker version of her late-game Revelation skill, making it still a great choice to use for a good chunk of Persona 3 Reload. Similarly, Aigis’ Orgia Mode is very powerful when she first joins the party, but it comes with the drawback of making her unusable for a few turns after she uses it. The protagonist’s Cadenza is likely the earliest Theurgy players will unlock for them, but it can be consistently solid throughout the first part of the game since it offers healing and a buff for all allies.

These Theurgy skills are only useable by the protagonist. While they can be useful for parts of the game, their utility quickly runs out once the player can access stronger Personas.
