Pokemon Fan’s Oddish Sketch Draws Comparisons to Other Characters

In the comments, many Pokemon fans complimented the Oddish sketch and how it showcased a different look for the popular Pokemon. Some also pointed out that the drawing looked like Mimikyu, a Ghost/Fairy Pokemon that usually hides under a Pikachu-shaped cloth, disguised as an Oddish, while others said it’s like a cross between Oddish and Drifloon, the Ghost/Flying Pokemon that looks like a balloon.

Additionally, one Pokemon fan said that the redesigned Oddish looked like it could pass as a Gen 9 Pokemon. The latest generation was introduced in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which also debuted the Paradox forms of various Pokemon. Paradox Pokemon are either prehistoric or futuristic versions of the monsters, which could be what fans were referring to with the Oddish sketch. Likewise, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet inspired many fans to create their own Paradox Pokemon based on other characters to showcase their creativity in revamping the characters’ base designs.

Apart from its mainline games and popular animated series, the Pokemon franchise continues to draw fans in with various titles and merch collaborations. In 2025, Pokemon Legends: Z-A is expected to launch, which will feature the Kalos region and possibly introduce additional Gen 9 Pokemon or alternate versions of existing Pokemon. Many fans are also investing time and effort in games like Pokemon GO and Pokemon Sleep, which are constantly being updated with new content to keep avid players entertained.
