Niantic has given new details about Pokemon GO‘s Max Battles, revealing how they will work. To keep the player experience engaging, Pokemon GO continues to work actively on introducing new features through new updates. After many requests from trainers, the devs have finally announced an anticipated feature.

This feature is Dynamax, one of the different Pokemon forms introduced in Gen 8. With this temporary transformation, Pokemon dramatically increase in size and get access to new abilities called Max Moves. There is also a variant called Gigantamax, in which they change appearance and can use G-Max Moves. With the announcement of the Max Out season, it was revealed that Dynamax is finally on its way to Pokemon GO. To get players even more excited, Niantic has shed new light on the upcoming mechanic.

As reported by Pokemon GO Hub, Niantic has shared new information about Max Battles with Japanese media, revealing a mechanic divided into four parts. The first will be to collect 250 Max Particles and gain access to Power Stops, which will start to pop up once the Pokemon GO player walks 2km in the current season. Then, up to four players will be able to join Max Battles, with up to three critters in Dynamax form on their teams. The third part is the battle, which will take limited turns to complete. In the end, trainers will have the chance to catch the Dynamax Pokemon they have just battled.

New Information Reveals What to Expect From Pokemon GO Max Battles

As well as revealing information about how Max Battles work, Niantic has revealed that Dynamax monsters will have a dedicated Dex. Despite this, Pokemon GO storage will be available to them as normal, with a special icon making it easier to identify them. Players will be able to collect up to 800 particles in a day, which will be consumed upon winning a battle. Existing Pokemon will not be able to be Dynamaxed, and PokeCoins can be used to improve Max Battles rewards.

While the Max Out season started on September 3, the debut of Dynamax Pokemon and Max Battles will be on September 10 in a special event. But this is just one of the new content available to trainers, who are finally seeing the addition of more Galar critters, including starters Grookey, Sobble, and Scorbunny. September’s Community Day Pokemon has been revealed, and players will have the chance to catch Ponyta and its regional variant. The Battle League has also been updated, with new rewards and cups for more competitive players to join.
