The next season of Pokemon GO is set to start later this week, and it has now been confirmed that it will be themed after the extradimensional Ultra Beasts. Even nearly eight years after it first launched on mobile devices, Niantic’s hit augmented reality Pokemon game continues to take the world by storm, allowing aspiring Trainers to capture, battle, and trade their favorite Pokemon by walking around and finding them in the real world. Pokemon GO keeps things fresh by constantly adding new events and seasons centered around specific Pokemon, with the most recent one set to wrap up on June 1.

This outgoing Pokemon GO season was named World of Wonders and was centered around some of the most notable Pokemon introduced in 2022’s Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. More specifically, it featured a special event to commemorate the premiere of Pokemon Horizons: The Series and allowed players to capture creatures like Charcadet, Armarouge, and Ceruledge. Towards the end of this month, and by extension the World of Wonders season, Pokemon GO held another event titled “Ultra Space Wonders,” which was focused around the Ultra Beasts and saw the debuts of Naganadel, Blacephalon, and Stakataka.

Pokemon GO Shared Skies Start and End Dates

  • Starts: June 1, 2024
  • Ends: September 3, 2024

So far, it doesn’t seem like any new Pokemon are going to be introduced as part of Shared Skies, which is set to begin on June 1 and run all the way to September 3. Pokemon GO Fest 2024 will take place in the middle of this new season, having been scheduled for July. Necrozma, a dual-type Legendary introduced in Pokemon Sun and Moon, will be added to Pokemon GO during this event, complete with a special fusion ability that will allow it to merge with Solgaleo or Lunala like it did in Ultra Sun and Moon.

It will have plenty of company during the upcoming Pokemon GO Shared Skies season, which looks like it will be mainly centered around the Ultra Beasts. The first three of these extradimensional beings were first brought into Pokemon GO during Pokemon GO Fest 2022, and even more of their number has slowly emerged over the past couple of years. There is still much yet to be confirmed about Pokemon GO’s next season, including what special events and bonuses fans can expect.
