Red Dead Online continues to be a perplexing part of Rockstar’s recent history, with the mode always having to contend against the massive popularity and success of GTA Online. While Red Dead Redemption 2 enjoyed huge amounts of success itself, its online counterpart never really reached the heights that many fans thought it was capable of closer to launch.
This even culminated with Rockstar ending major post-launch support for Red Dead Online only a couple of years after its release, although there is still plenty of seasonal content to keep fans engaged. Halloween is already shaping up to be a huge source of fresh content within Red Dead Online, for example, with players having a lot to look forward to in the way of new cosmetics, rewards, missions, and more.

There are some essential things that players need to do first in Red Dead Online to make sure they aren’t slacking on being the best.
Red Dead Online Has Some Big Plans For Halloween 2024
Like GTA Online, Red Dead Online has received many seasonal in-game events since its launch in 2018, with these being a fantastic way to keep fans of the multiplayer experience engaged through a wider variety of timely content. With major post-launch content coming to an end for Red Dead Online in 2022, seasonal events are now some of the most important content injections that the game receives, with the likes of Halloween and Christmas being big deals within RDO.
This year is no different, with Red Dead Online‘s October update bringing a surprisingly varied amount of spooky Halloween content for players to sink their teeth into. One of the major aspects of Red Dead Online‘s Halloween content is the introduction of three brand-new Bodyguard Telegram Missions. These fresh experiences will see players escort drivers through ominous territory, guard a wealthy resident during a night of chaos, and protect hunters from poachers and imposing wildlife. To further incentivize fans, these missions, alongside all other Telegram missions, will give double XP, Gold, and RDO$ until November 4.
Of course, this year’s RDO Halloween plans see the return of the All Hallow’s Call to Arms Mode. Players can once again prove their worth in survival against waves of paranormal enemies, with the powerful Night Stalker mask also making a reappearance to give players an edge over the competition when they most need it. In the same spirit as the newly added Telegram missions, All Hallow’s Call to Arms will also provide double Gold, XP, and RDO$ throughout October.
A Range of New and Old Halloween Cosmetics Are Now Available in Red Dead Online
The Halloween Pass 2 is also a core part of Red Dead Online‘s Halloween content for 2024. Players will need to purchase the Halloween Pass 2 to gain access to it, with the pass then featuring 15 ranks of different terrifying cosmetics that fans can unlock, equip, and permanently own. It is worth noting that this is the same Halloween Pass from some past events, featuring the same cosmetics, meaning fans should only pursue the pass if they missed out on the Halloween Pass 2 previously.
A number of in-game items will be on sale throughout October, with weekly challenges and XP boosts also directing players to a huge range of pre-existing Halloween content. Several brand-new and freely available community-made cosmetics have also been added to Red Dead Online, with these masks and outfits being available through the Wheeler, Rawson and Co. Catalogue and Madam Nazar. While it is a shame that Red Dead Online never got the consistent major post-launch attention that it deserved, fans at the very least have been given a good amount of fresh and returning content to celebrate Halloween.
