Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 isn’t slated to launch until March 2024, but leakers are already pointing toward the next potential theme: Greek Mythology. Fortnite just kicked off Chapter 5 Season 1 earlier this month with a new map, several new game modes, and even a TMNT collaboration with themed skins. However, despite all the excitement, the season hasn’t been without its issues.

Chapter 5 of Fortnite introduced some new movement mechanics that fans weren’t exactly thrilled about. While changes were made to improve the visuals and emphasize strategy, players found these tweaks lead to stiff movement and an overall disappointing experience. The bevy of complaints even forced the Fortnite team to address the community concerning movement, and is likely the impetus behind the latest gameplay update. Still, while there is plenty of content to focus on in the game right now, that hasn’t stopped leakers and fans from looking to the future.

Fortnite Releases New Update That Addresses Movement Concerns

The latest Fortnite patch notes bring various changes to Epic Games’ flagship title, including movement changes and quality-of-life improvements.

The historically reliable leaker Hypex has taken to social media to share that Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 is “speculated to be Greek Mythology-themed.” According to Hypex, this rumor is the result of a collaboration of hints they have accumulated in part thanks to other notable leakers and news sources FNChiefAko and Wensoing. While their timing is occasionally off, Hypex has been a reliable source of information in the past. Still, until Epic Games officially announces anything, these reports should be treated as rumors.

Again, the speculation surrounding the Greek Mythology theme is the result of a handful of hints that Hypex has laid out. Several Greek Mythology skins were referenced in a recent survey, the next season is codenamed “Aiga,” which is the Greek word for “goat,” and the map’s overall theme and style generally hint toward it. Not to mention, the upcoming boss for Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 reportedly spawns from lightning, which could refer to Zeus.

Chapter 5 comes hot on the heels of the record-breaking launch of Fortnite OG, the game’s nostalgic return to original weapons, vehicles, and locations. While the latest season got off to a contentious start thanks to some issues with movement, fans have largely been excited by the collaborations and skins that have brought characters like Solid Snake, Peter Griffin, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles into the game.

Despite being released back in 2017, Fortnite remains one of the best free-to-play games thanks in large part to continuous updates and a thriving player base. With the introduction of new games like LEGO Fortnite and Rocket Racing, it appears as though the franchise’s ecosystem is expanding even more.
