Genshin Impact is giving Cyno his second Story Quest in Version 4.6, but it may also be introducing a future playable character as well. Over the course of its history, Genshin Impact has proven to be no stranger when it comes to teasing upcoming characters through in-game content. Xianyun’s human form was teased in the Lantern Rite a year before her official debut, and Charlotte made her first appearance in Version 3.7 despite joining the roster in Version 4.2.

Though only Arlecchino will join the cast of playable Genshin Impact characters in Version 4.6, Cyno’s second Story Quest is granting a considerable role to Sethos. The Version 4.6 beta uses a Keqing placeholder instead of Sethos’ true model, which only further implicates him into becoming a playable character in future updates. With over a hundred voiced lines in Cyno’s second Story Quest, Sethos will have ample opportunity to leave a memorable impression on Genshin Impact players.

Who is Sethos in Genshin Impact?

Based on concept art shared by hxg, one of the most reliable Genshin Impact sources when it comes to leaks, Sethos is expected to be a bow character from the Sumeru desert. Sethos’ element is unknown, but he unmistakably uses the Medium Male model shared by other Genshin Impact characters such as Cyno and Tighnari. Given the abundance of 5-Stars during the Fontaine patch cycle, it’s highly likely that Sethos will be a 4-Star if his release comes before Natlan. It’s also important to note that HoYoverse is fond of shuffling characters around, as Dahlia was rumored to make an in-game appearance during the Flagship Event of Version 4.5.

Given how much Gaming’s visual appearance changed in Genshin Impact Version 4.4 compared to his old concept art, it’s important to similarly take Sethos’ concept art with a grain of salt. The only confirmed information concerning Sethos is that he will play a major role in Cyno’s second Story Quest, and that he is a bow user with a Medium Male model. Sigewinne is expected to release as a 4-Star Hydro Bow character in Version 4.7, which could mean that Sethos will only become playable after the launch of Natlan.

Though not much is known about the Pyro Nation, a recent rumor points towards Natlan introducing mounts to Genshin Impact. From a geographical standpoint, Natlan lies on the other side of the Sumeru desert, and as such, it’s highly probable that some Genshin Impact characters from Sumeru will have connections to Natlan. Whether that ends up being the case with Sethos remains to be seen, but players should expect to have their first glimpse of the character in Version 4.6.
