Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has released its eighth major update patch, which adds new features and adjustments to help make the game more accessible for all. The second chapter of Respawn’s Star Wars Jedi series was launched last April and continued the story of former Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis as he searched for a lost Jedi sanctuary from the days of the High Republic. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor retained the lightsaber combat and exploration gameplay that made Fallen Order a surprise success in 2019, and introduced several new combat styles and Force Powers to help players fend off the armies of the Empire.

Even after launch, Respawn and EA have continued to support Star Wars Jedi: Survivor through various update patches that would refine the game and address different technical issues. The most recent of these was Jedi: Survivor Update 7.5 back in October, which fixed the game’s creature and vehicle animations and corrected a glitch where Cal’s binocular beacons wouldn’t work when the game was being played with ray tracing enabled.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Update 8 is now live across all platforms, and introduces two new accessibility features and multiple improvements to the game’s existing Slow Motion mode. This new Jedi: Survivor patch adds a high-contrast mode that allows players to desaturate the environment and use colors specifically to help pick out narrative and gameplay elements more easily. There is also a new audio ping feature that lets players passively and actively ping the environment, granting them the ability to echolocate objects and interactable elements near them.

The latest Star Wars Jedi: Survivor update also adds a variety of different slow-motion presents, which will allow fans to play through Cal’s intense adventure at their own speed. These new presents are set at 30%, 50%, and 70% respectively, and can be accessed through Jedi: Survivor’s shortcut settings menu. Finally, Update 8 incorporates fixes for various performance and stability issues across all platforms.

There have been rumors of a third Star Wars Jedi game being in development at Respawn, with various job listings and even Cal Kestis voice actor Cameron Monaghan suggesting as much over the past year. In the meantime, EA and Respawn continue to take player feedback into account while improving and fine-tuning Star Wars Jedi: Survivor through numerous update patches, with the latest one adding multiple accessibility features to help ensure that everyone can journey into the Galaxy Far, Far Away and challenge the forces of evil.
