Updated November 20, 2023, by Christopher Norman Worcester: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor contains a fair amount of content that provides a considerable challenge for old and new players alike. With this in mind, we are looking to find the most popular questions asked and ensuring we have the best possible information available. This update adds a video guide that provides the full context for one of the game’s early environmental puzzles, which can be trickier than it appears.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor follows Cal Kestis on his second adventure across the galaxy. Like in the previous game, there are countless secret areas for the brave Jedi Knight to find and explore during his journey, but some, like the Moldy Depths, are harder to navigate than others.

Upon reaching the Moldy Depths in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, players will need to solve a short puzzle in order to leave. The solution to this puzzle isn’t exactly clear, however, as the only things Cal can interact with in this area are a Nekko and a door. Players can open the door quite easily, but once they let go of the device connected to it, the door will close, leaving Cal back at square one.

From the front entrance of Pyloon’s Saloon, Cal should turn left and proceed in the direction of the Untamed Downs. Jumping up to the ledge just after the stream, he should turn left and hug the wall on his right until he passes through the small cave system. Eventually, he will reach an area known as the Harvest Ridge, where the entrance to the Moldy Depths can be found.

Here, Cal can interact with the two NPCs standing to the right of the yellow gate to recruit them and complete the Find the Musician and their Droid Rumor. However, those hoping to reach the Moldy Depths should tame the Bogling standing on the device in front of the yellow gate.

After the Bogling has moved, Cal can use Force Pull on the device next to the yellow gate to grab it and slot it in the device the Bogling was standing on. The gate will open once this has been down, allowing Cal access to the Moldy Depths.

Proceeding inside the cave, Cal must squeeze through the hole in the back wall, after which he can jump on the water slide to reach the Moldy Depths itself. Turning left, he will find a door that can be opened by using Force Pull on the device to the right. Sadly, there is nowhere to slot the device once it has been grabbed, so the door will close once Cal stops using the Force.

Ignoring the door for now, Cal should backtrack to the end of the waterslide and proceed to the other side of the cave, where he can jump down to the lower level to find a Nekko and three Gorgers. Just behind the Nekko, on the ledge in the corner, a Priorite Shard can be found.

Mounting the Nekko and riding it through the door on the right, Cal will find himself at the other side of the door he tried to open earlier. Dismounting from the Nekko while it is standing in front of the door and backtracking to the opposite side, Cal can use Force Pull on the device to open the door for the Nekko to come through.

The door in the Moldy Depths doesn’t need to be opened permanently; it only needs to be opened for a brief period so the Nekko behind it can walk through.

Cal will need to use a Mind Trick on the Nekko in order to lure it toward him, after which he can mount the creature, ride it toward the yellow structure across from the water slide, and leap from it to reach the climbable wall. Then, using the two climbable walls on top of this structure, he can climb to the vines above and use them to leave the Moldy Depths.
