How Strong Are Battlecruisers In StarCraft 2
Each faction in StarCraft 2 has access to a wide range of units that range from basic and affordable to the most expensive super units that are a squad all on their own. The Terrans have two main super units, Thors which walk on the ground, and the Battlecruiser which dominates the skies and clears out the ground below.
Battlecruisers dominate any fight and have the ability to jump around to any location on the map in seconds to deal targeted blows to your enemy. Here is the build path you need to follow to build a Battlecruiser.

How To Build A Battlecruiser In StarCraft 2
The start of any game as the Terrans will give you a Command Center and twelve workers. From here you’ll need to build the following buildings in order to be able to build Battlecruisers:
- Supply Depot – 100 Minerals
- Barracks – 150 Minerals
- Factory – 150 Minerals and 100 Vespene Gas
- Starport – 150 Minerals and 100 Vespene Gas
- Tech Lab on a Starport – 50 Minerals and 25 Vespene Gas.
- Fusion Core – 150 Minerals and 150 Vespene Gas
You’ll need a Refinery on a Vespene Gas Geyser as most of the later buildings need it, though it’s up to you when in the beginning is the best time to build one. Once the Fusion Core is built and the Tech Lab is still on a Starport, that Starport and build Battlecruisers for:
- 400 Minerals
- 300 Vespene Gas
- 64 seconds to build.
These units take quite a lot to build, but their overall stats and abilities are well worthwhile.

How Strong Are Battlecruisers In StarCraft 2
Battlecruisers have multiple guns that are able to shoot both flying and ground units and can also continue to fire even while moving. They have a total of 550 hit points and start with the Tactical Jump ability. Every 71 seconds, Battlecruisers can jump to any location on the map even without visibility, and be there in only a few seconds. The Yamato Canon upgrade needs to be researched at the Fusion Core first, but when activated, fires a powerful blast after 2 seconds that deals 240 damage, ideal for taking out even the biggest Zerg bugs.
Players will need to activate each individual Battlecruiser’s Yamato Cannon and activate it on a targeted enemy to fire multiple at once.
The base stats for Battlecruisers can be upgraded in an armory to make them even more deadly. Below are their base stats and the fully upgraded stats.

Battlecruisers can also be repaired by any SCV at the expense of minerals for each hit point restored. This can be done in or out of combat, just as long as the SCV can get directly below the Battlecruiser.
