  • Starfield player proposes dashboard ornaments for ship customization.
  • The idea adds character and personalization to space travel, potentially improving gameplay.
  • If not implemented by Bethesda, modders might introduce dashboard ornaments themselves.

A Starfield player online has come up with an awesome idea that would add a lot of character and customization to the game’s space travel. While customization in Starfield doesn’t necessarily reach its full potential, this idea would certainly improve things when it comes to ship customization mechanics.

Prior to the release of Starfield, many gamers were excited by the potential that space travel offered. However, upon playing the game, they found that it somewhat served as a long-winded fast travel system, similar to that seen in previous Bethesda games like Skyrim and Fallout 4. While this was disappointing, Bethesda has continued to update Starfield, which is why the community is so forthright in putting solid ideas to improve it forward. While this particular idea may not improve space travel gameplay directly, it certainly makes it more customizable.

Wild Starfield Mod Wants to Bring Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim to the Game

An ambitious Starfield mod hopes to bring the combined lands of Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim to Bethesda’s latest RPG experience.

Redditor fidelamos came up with the idea of dashboard ornaments for Starfield ships. This concept was explored by the user in a video showing Star Wars‘ Grogu and a piggy bank on the dashboard of a ship as it takes off in Starfield, and it looks great. There would definitely be a ton of potential for this to be explored further by Bethesda if it were to be introduced, and no doubt modders would have a ton of fun with it, too. The thread itself was filled with ideas, with some gamers suggesting fuzzy dice and hula girls – the classic dashboard ornaments.

Starfield Player Wants Dashboard Ornaments Added For Ship Customization

If Bethesda doesn’t introduce dashboard ornaments into Starfield, there’s no doubt that the game’s modding community will at some point in the future. The recent release of the Creation Kit for Starfield should allow modders to finally realize the game’s full potential, and to some degree, it has already begun. One Starfield mod completely overhauls space travel, so it’s clear that the spaceships will see a lot of attention from modders going forward.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Starfield. While Bethesda’s latest RPG might have received a mixed reception from fans after its release last year, Bethesda has steadily updated the game to a much better place. Starfield‘s upcoming Shattered Space DLC looks like a full-blown horror game in the best way possible, which should provide an interesting change in tone for the title. 2024 will definitely be key as to whether Starfield will have a lot of longevity well into the future.
