Steam users have been given a short-lived chance to grab a free copy of Wanba Warriors. Specifically, the game’s Steam keys are currently up for grabs via Fanatical, with some limitations.

Fanatical is a digital game key reseller. While many popular online key resellers are effectively gray markets, Fanatical is an authorized reseller that only works directly with publishers, thus being as legit as they come.

Fanatical Offering Wanba Warriors for Newsletter Sign-Ups

As part of its latest promotion, Fanatical is offering Wanba Warriors free of charge. The wacky fighting game is being given away in the form of a Steam key to anyone who signs up for the Fanatical newsletter. The promotion is officially set to conclude on Friday, August 2, at 7pm ET. As is usually the case with Fanatical giveaways, the main catch with this one is that the featured keys are geographically limited. While Steam users in most countries will be able to activate them, some fairly large markets are excluded from the giveaway, including India, South Korea, China, Brazil, and Argentina.

A requirement for participating in this giveaway is to have a Steam account with at least $5 worth of games in its library. This particular condition is ostensibly merely a safeguard that would prevent people from claiming multiple copies of the game only to resell access to them. Other than that, adding Wanba Warriors to the cart requires checking the box that constitutes an agreement to subscribe to Fanatical’s newsletter. This obviously isn’t a permanent decision, with users being able to unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, even right after claiming their copy of the game.

As for the actual process of doing so, completing the checkout will add the Wanba Warriors Steam key to the user’s Orders page on Fanatical.com. The keys that are being issued as part of the giveaway are only valid until August 9, at 10pm UTC / 6pm ET / 3pm PT. The Wanba Warriors code can be redeemed like any other Steam key. Subscribing to Fanatical’s newsletter also comes with the added bonus of receiving a one-time coupon for 5% off of any order on the site, which is valid for a week from the time of issuance.

As for the star of the giveaway, Wanba Warriors is a wacky absurdist fighting game for up to two players. It was developed by Wanba Studio and originally debuted on Valve’s storefront in March 2020. Since then, the game has amassed over 2,200 “Very Positive” Steam reviews. Wanba Warriors also offers five character DLC packs priced at up to $2.99 each. All of them are currently discounted by up to 50% off, with that sale being set to conclude on August 12.
