Robert Pattinson’s The Batman might don an upgraded Batsuit in the sequel The Batman Part II if a fan could have their way to ensure the superhero’s victory against Mr. Freeze.

Batman is famous for his Batsuit, which usually consists of a gray or black body suit with a stylish black bat emblazoned on the chest. Over the years, Batman’s suit has been iterated as the character continues to evolve since it was first introduced in 1939. A digital artist suggested another enhancement to Pattinson’s Batsuit that the actor could potentially wear to beat the rumored villain in The Batman 2.

Eren Gürocak, a digital artist from Istanbul, Turkey, with Instagram handle erathrim20, shared an artwork with Pattinson rocking a new Batman costume for the anticipated sequel. In the photo uploaded on Instagram, one noticeable change is the addition of a covering over the mouth area. I’ve corrected any spelling, grammar, or punctuation errors., making it a full face mask. The superhero also has noticeable red eyes.

The suggested costume received mixed responses from the DC fans. Some approved of it, saying it was “cool.” Another said an enhancement is necessary because the previous one was “the worst suit in live action.” However, a different netizen disagreed because he found Pattinson’s first Batman outfit just fine. The user also claimed that Mr. Freeze would not be part of The Batman Part 2.

The possibility of Batman wearing an upgraded Batsuit in The Batman Part II is not far-fetched because the character’s costumes in the comics have also evolved. He started by wearing black gloves, sharper, straighter ears, and a cape. After that, he was seen wearing a batwing, a cowl with a sharp nose, and the classic blue, grey, gold, and black color scheme with a utility belt buckle. The Dark Knight was eventually seen rocking an all-black costume with a gold utility belt, ears pointed straight up, and the bat logo on the chest in 1995’s “Troika Batman.” Even Ben Affleck’s Batsuit evolved in the five projects where he portrayed the cape crusader.

As for the costume helping Batman beat Mr. Freeze, it remains unclear who will be the main antagonist in the upcoming superhero flick. American filmmaker Matt Reeves, who will direct the movie and write the screenplay, has yet to give any clue about who Batman will face next. There are rumors that Joker (Barry Keoghan), who briefly appeared in the first film, will be the main antagonist. Thus, it is still too early to conclude that a costume change is necessary to beat Mr. Freeze. However, it’s also not impossible to see an alteration in the Batsuit, whoever is the main villain in the sequel.

The Batman Part II is set for release on October 3, 2023.
