If you’re a legitimate player who got an unfair ban, here’s how to appeal a ban in The Finals.

After the recent attempt by Embark Studios to fix the cheating problem in The Finals, a lot of legitimate players got hit with unfair bans and have been seeing “TFLA004 Error”. In this guide, you’ll learn how to fix this error and get back into The Finals. Sure, the measures Embark has taken eliminated some cheaters. But numerous legitimate players, who haven’t cheated, have gotten automated bans and now have no way to get back in the game for an unknown time.

The issue should be resolved soon enough, and legitimate players should be unbanned, but there’s still a chance that some non-cheaters will stay penalized. And there’s no way to know when the fix will be released. So, the best way to go about this situation is to file an appeal for the unjust ban.

The Finals: character with a weapon

Here’s how to appeal a ban in case you’re struggling with the TFLA004 error after the recent ban wave.

First and foremost, you can’t appeal a ban in-game. You’ll have to contact the support on their website. Once you’re on the support website, click on the red chat bubble in the bottom right corner. This will open up a chat with Embark’s AI customer support assistant. You’ll be given a list of problems you may be having with The Finals. Here’s how to actually get to the ban appeals. Follow these dialogue options in the chatbot:

  • Choose the 2nd option, “Appeal Ban or Restriction.”
  • Choose the 2nd option, “In-Game Ban.”
  • Choose the 2nd option, “No, I need to talk to someone.”
  • The bot will ask for your name and email address. Fill them in, after which you’ll get 3 response options.
  • Choose “Error message appeared saying the account is banned.”
  • The bot will ask for a screenshot of the error. Provide the screenshot.
  • Next, your linked email address, platform, and username will be needed. Fill them in and submit your appeal.

Now, wait for an email back from Embark Studios. It’ll most likely take a few days for your account to get unbanned, but it’s certainly better than waiting for an unknown amount of time for the TFLA004 error fix to be implemented.
