The classes in The Finals serve as the foundation for the customization options available to the player, dictating what weapons and equipment they have access to at any given time. All Classes In The Finals, Explained
There are currently a total of three different classes players can choose in The Finals, each of which can be customized quite heavily. Each class offers its own roster of weapons, along with their own unique Specializations and Gadgets, all of which will go into a short cooldown after each use. On top of exclusive weapons and gear, each class also boasts varying levels of health and movement speed, calling for players to adapt their playstyle to their chosen class.
Light Class – Movement Over Firepower
The Light Class consists of speedy run-and-gunners with a great emphasis on movement over sheer firepower. The Light Class features a roster of weapons mainly consisting of close-range options, like the XP-54 and the M11, but they also come equipped with the LH1 Battle Rifle and the SR-84 — the only Sniper Rifle in the game. Sporting the fastest movement speed of any class, along with the smallest hitbox, the Light Class is especially favorable among fast and aggressive players. However, they do have the lowest health out of the three classes, requiring players to use evasive maneuvers during gunfights to avoid elimination.
Here is a breakdown of all the available Specializations for the Light Class:
- Grappling Hook: Deploy a grappling hook to reel players toward its location. Useful for making quick escapes, swinging past objects for quick rotations, and scaling buildings quickly for a height advantage.
- Evasive Dash: Bestows players with three quick dashes, launching them in the direction they are moving. This serves as a great tool for closing the gap between the player and their opponents, as well as quickly dodging enemy fire.
- Cloaking Device: Makes players harder to see while moving and completely invisible when motionless. It is most useful for lowering the player’s profile, perfect for flanking enemies undetected.
Medium Class – A Balanced Approach
The Medium Class aims to play as the middle-ground between both the Light Class and the Heavy Class, sporting more health than the Light Class without sacrificing too much movement speed. Boasting some pretty neat weapons for the medium-range-meta, like the AKM and the FCAR, along with other good considerations like the Model 1887, the Medium Class is definitely a viable choice for players looking for a more balanced playstyle. The Medium Class is also great for supportive roles such as healing and fortification, along with being the most versatile out of the three classes.
Here is a breakdown of all the available Specializations for the Medium Class:
- Guardian Turret: Deploys an AI-controlled turret onto any surface. Serves as an effective way to fortify objective points, along with guarding flank routes and key choke points.
- Healing Beam: Deploys a beam that heals allies. It is great for saving allies from the brink of death, and it pairs remarkably well for keeping Heavy players in tip-top condition.
- Dematerializer: Used to dematerialize surfaces, opening them up for players, objects, and projectiles to pass through. Surfaces can then be rematerialized afterward.
Heavy Class – Explosive Firepower, Slow & Tanky
The Heavy Class essentially fulfills the tank role in The Finals, boasting the highest health at the expense of movement speed and sporting the largest hitbox out of all the classes in the game. Coming equipped with LMGs like the Lewis Gun, along with high explosives and other demolishing tools, the Heavy Class specializes in suppressing fire and blasting away any structures in their wake. The Heavy Class is also the only class capable of carrying two weapons instead of an extra Gadget, which could be the deciding factor for players who want a little more firepower in their hands. Essentially, Heavy players shine at dishing out immense damage, with the only major caveat being their inability to outmaneuver the other two classes.
Here is a breakdown of all the available Specializations for the Heavy Class:
- Charge ‘N’ Slam: Performs a charge that lunges players forwards, or performs a slam when in midair. Great for barreling through structures along with dealing damage to opponents.
- Mesh Shield: Projects a Mesh Shield in front of the player, blocking incoming projectiles from the front. Allies behind the barrier can shoot through it, making it an excellent tool for both pushing contested objectives along with quickly shielding allies that are under pressure.
- Goo Gun: A tool that fires glue blobs that solidify when coming in contact with a surface. Provides the means to create cover, along with plugging up holes in walls and other surfaces.
- Winch Claw: Deploys a chain claw capable of pulling contestants and objects toward the player. Serves as a great way to bridge the gap between players and opponents, along with securing Cash Boxes, Cashouts, and other objective-based items.
