Nexon Games revealed that the next new Descendant for The First Descendant, the skilled sniper Hailey, will be added at the start of Season 1. The first season of The First Descendant will also bring a slew of new content, including the game’s first episode, titled “Invasion.”

The First Descendant received multiple post-launch updates during the game’s pre-season, which began with the July 2 launch. The development team at Nexon Games has focused on implementing bug fixes, adjusting weapon balance, and addressing player feedback from launch. More updates are likely on the way as the game heads toward the Season 1 launch later this month. What’s more, The First Descendant players still have plenty of time to share their thoughts about the game’s pre-season with the developers.

Nexon Games released a brand-new trailer for The First Descendant Season 1: Invasion, confirming that it will mark the debut of Descendant Hailey on August 29. The trailer highlights some cinematic scenes involving Hailey, alongside gameplay footage of the Descendant in action with her high-powered sniper rifle. The First Descendant players will learn more about the new playable sniper in a dedicated Descendant story, and the main story will continue in Episode: Invasion with the first update for Season 1. Further details about the first season’s story were not revealed just yet by Nexon Games, however.

The First Descendant Season 1 will also bring a new seasonal Battle Pass, new dungeons, a new Ultimate Descendant, and new weapons and skins, according to the game’s previously released roadmap. Players can also expect more free rewards in The First Descendant to commemorate the Season 1 update’s launch. All the Season 1 content will be delivered in three major updates, which will launch before Season 2 begins in early December this year. However, the Season 1 and 2 roadmap is subject to change, so content releases may shift slightly. At the very least, The First Descendant players will have a lot of content to play through before Season 3 arrives sometime in early 2025.

Less than two weeks remain in The First Descendant’s pre-season, so time to prepare for the first season’s new dungeon is running out. While players prepare and wait for Season 1, Nexon Games is expected to release a few more updates that will address lingering issues that have been affecting players in the past few weeks. Most recently, The First Descendant hotfix 1.0.7 introduced quality of life changes and improvements that help streamline player progression and fix bugs involving in-game missions and features.
