Twitch Has Banned Nyanners

Twitch temporarily banned Nyanners, one of its most prominent virtual streamers, following her live playthrough of a controversial game. This isn’t Nyanners’ first suspension from the platform; her initial temporary ban on Twitch occurred two years ago when she was still an emerging creator.

Known for her edgy humor, Nyanners first faced a Twitch ban in November 2022. In a tweet from that time, she explained her model displayed “a little too much skin,” leading to a suspension for “inappropriate attire.” Twitch quickly reversed the decision, allowing her to resume streaming the next day. Now, Nyanners finds herself in hot water again. This time, however, she’s a much bigger name on the platform, boasting over 1 million followers, leaving some fans concerned about her return.

In a recent Twitch stream, Nyanners played a controversial indie game called Amarillo’s Butt Slapper, leading to a quick ban from the platform. The game includes a feature where players can tap a 3D model, which Nyanners used to create a rhythmic beat. However, due to the nature of the interaction, Twitch’s guidelines team deemed it inappropriate, prompting the ban. Since Amarillo’s Butt Slapper is unrated, Twitch’s regulation team made the decision manually rather than through automated moderation.

Nyanners’ Ban Lasted Only 1 Day, 4 Hours, and 35 Minutes

Fans of the VTuber Nyanners were relieved as she returned to Twitch just a day after the incident. According to the Twitter account StreamerBans, Nyanners was unbanned on October 26th after 1 day, 4 hours, and 35 minutes. Her swift return contrasts with that of Chromuchromu, another popular virtual streamer who faced a similar Twitch ban just weeks prior but was kept off the platform for an entire week. During her brief Twitch suspension, Nyanners took to streaming on YouTube, describing the experience as “super fun” in a tweet. Nyanners hinted that she might start streaming karaoke content on YouTube whenever possible, which was met with enthusiastic support from her fans. Primarily a Twitch-based streamer, Nyanners’ YouTube channel—with over a million subscribers—has mainly featured clips and edits from her streams so far.

Adding to the story’s lighthearted outcome, the ban also sparked a wholesome exchange between Nyanners and the indie game developer Amarillo. In a playful tweet, Amarillo apologized for any trouble caused by Butt Slapper and promised to make it up to her, to which Nyanners responded warmly. While Nyanners fans celebrate her return, others are still awaiting the comeback of their favorite creators. October proved challenging for streamers like Frogan and Denims, who were banned after their controversial “Sabra Tier List” incident at TwitchCon.
