Previous Call of Duty titles like Vanguard featured the infamous Krampus, a deadly monster who wreaked havoc on the battlefield. Krampus was an overpowered boss who, according to most players, ruined multiplayer matches. After numerous complaints and reports from players, COD devs nerfed and discontinued Krampus, which came as a relief to players.

However, in Santa’s Slayground 2023 CODMAS event, Krampus has made a comeback to Warzone, but not as you remember him. Instead of a horrifying horned, anthropomorphic, horned beast who would hunt down players, Krampus is now an Easter egg that poses no harm to players in Urzikstan. Here’s a guide on the Krampus Easter egg in Warzone, including where to find it.

Who is Krampus in Call of Duty?

call of duty vanguard krampus face feature

Krampus was a terrifying and powerful monster in Warzone’s multiplayer mode who would attack and kill players. He first appeared in Call of Duty Vanguard in 2021 and would randomly pop up in Caldora to haunt players. Krampus was relentless and ruthless and would hunt down the entire team until everyone was killed, which ruined the game for many players.

Where to Find Krampus in Warzone

Players can find Krampus on the shorelines between Old Town and Urzikstan Cargo. Here, you’ll see an arm sticking out of a burial site, which is what is left of Krampus. Krampus will not attack or hunt you down, as the character is utterly harmless in the game. Instead, he has unique rewards such as the “He Hunts You” Calling card, and to get it, players must interact with the buried arm.

Once you interact with Krampus, his arm will twitch vigorously, and you’ll hear him say, “He haunts you,” and “He’ll return” in a creepy voice. It seems COD plans to re-introduce the character in future Christmas events. Hopefully, Krampus will be well-balanced and allow players to complete holiday challenges to earn rewards and progress.

In the meantime, players are happy the latest Krampus is only an arm buried over crates and other items. He has no power in Urzikstan, allowing players to focus on other missions and challenges like the Snow Fights and Slay Ride Resurgence. Be sure to complete all Santa’s Slayground CODMAS challenges to earn unique rewards like the Santa Gnaws Operator skin and emblems. The event will run up to January 4th, so you have plenty of time to complete tasks and explore the holiday-themed maps of Hangover and Shipment.
